Introduction¶
When building agents or toolchains, models often struggle with precise mathematical calculations, financial modeling, or complex matrix operations. The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin ecosystem aims to address this issue. This article introduces xby-calculator, a calculator server based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) that provides agents with these capabilities.
Plugin Overview¶
xby-calculator is a plugin for DeepSeek Harness (DSH) that provides calculator services. It covers basic arithmetic, radical operations, trigonometric functions, logarithmic operations, statistics, combinatorics, number theory, complex number operations, matrix operations, numerical analysis, financial calculations, unit conversions, and geometric calculations.
Installation and Enablement¶
Installing this plugin requires using DSH’s plugin management command. Ensure that the target profile (such as web) is configured, and then run the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:xby_skill/xby-calculator
Core Features¶
This plugin mainly provides the following 13 specialized mathematics modules:
- Basic arithmetic
- Radical operations
- Trigonometric functions
- Logarithmic operations
- Statistics
- Combinatorics
- Number theory
- Complex number operations
- Matrix operations
- Numerical analysis
- Financial calculations
- Unit conversions
- Geometric calculations
Notes¶
Before using this plugin, you need to register on the Xiaobenyang official website and obtain an API key. In addition, some functions have input constraints. For example, the inverse hyperbolic cosine function (acosh) requires input values of at least 1, while the inverse hyperbolic tangent function (atanh) requires input values between -1 and 1.
Ecosystem Background¶
The DSH philosophy is that “everything is a plugin.” The community directory is an independent site and has no official affiliation with DeepSeek / Huanfang. The plugin introduced in this article is hosted in a GitHub repository, and details can be found on the directory page.
