Preface

DeepSeek Harness updates quickly, and there are many community plugins. A single incompatible theme, frontend plugin, or dependency update may cause DSH to show a blank page, make Settings inaccessible, or render the entire plugin environment unusable. dsh-recovery-center is designed specifically for this kind of problem: it saves plugin state while the system is healthy and restores it offline after a crash; even if the DSH web interface will not open, the standalone emergency page can still be launched.

What Is It

This is a local plugin used to save current plugin files, dependency manifests, and loading configuration. It does not restore chat records, workspaces, the DSH main program, or separately stored model credentials. This plugin is maintained by supery0ung and licensed under the MIT License.

Core Features

  • Offline recovery: Saves current plugin files and loading configuration; restoration does not depend on the network to re-download.
  • Safety verification: Performs SHA-256 verification and checks the DSH version before restoration; corrupted or mismatched recovery points will not directly overwrite existing files.
  • Reversibility: Automatically saves the current state before each restore, preventing a single restore operation from causing new issues.
  • Standalone rescue: The recovery program is located outside the plugin directory, so it can still be opened even if the DSH frontend or the plugin itself is corrupted.
  • macOS entry point: After first enablement, an emergency desktop entry point is generated automatically; it can be recreated if missing.
  • Interrupt-safe recovery: Uses staged file replacement and disk logging to prevent data corruption caused by interruptions.

Install and Enable

Install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-recovery-center@0.1.2 --config.auto-install-peers=false

Restart DSH and open Settings → Recovery Center. Save the first recovery point while the system is healthy. From then on, save another recovery point before installing or updating plugins.

Typical Usage

Use it via CLI:

  1. List all recovery points:
   dsh-recovery list --profile web
  1. Capture a new recovery point:
dsh-recovery capture --profile web --label "Before a new theme"
  1. Restore to a specified point (stop DSH first):
dsh-recovery restore <point-id> --profile web --yes
  1. Repair a corrupted recovery directory (log recovery):
   dsh-recovery repair --profile web

Standalone Emergency Entry Point

On macOS, after initial enablement, an emergency desktop entry file is generated automatically (for example, DSH Emergency Recovery-安装标识.command). If the entry file is missing, you can click “Create / Repair Entry Point” in the Recovery Center interface to regenerate it. Double-click the entry file to open the standalone emergency recovery page, where you can select and restore a healthy recovery point.

Use Cases and Cautions

  • Use cases: A plugin prevents the DSH interface from loading and plugin changes need to be rolled back; the plugin environment needs to be restored without network access.
  • Unsupported scenarios: Windows systems are not supported.
  • Important limitations:
  • Does not restore chats, workspaces, the DSH main program, or separately stored model credentials.
  • Save a recovery point before installing or updating other plugins.
  • Do not install or update packages while capturing a recovery point.
  • Recovery points can only be manually deleted when DSH is stopped.

Summary

dsh-recovery-center provides local rollback capability for the DeepSeek Harness plugin environment. With offline recovery and a standalone emergency entry point, it offers an effective recovery mechanism when a plugin causes a system crash.
