Introduction¶
The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When developing agents or orchestrating workflows in DSH Web, dealing with multiple Sessions, Workspaces, and complex task states can reduce efficiency without an intuitive centralized view. dsh-ds-kanban is an external bundle-format plugin that provides DSH Web with a sidebar entry and a full-screen live kanban board.
This plugin does not replace the Harness application shell, nor does it store a separate task database. It projects from existing Session, Workspace, projection, pending-interaction, and connection services, and stores manual placement for Inbox/Ready and view preferences in the existing settings capabilities.
Core Features¶
This plugin provides the following features:
- Sidebar badges: Displays counts of waiting, failed, blocked, and high-context-pressure tasks.
- Full-screen live kanban board: Includes columns for Inbox, Ready, Running, Waiting, Blocked or Failed, Idle, and Goal Complete.
- Interaction and filtering: Supports real-time statistics, search and filtering, workspace grouping, and density and timestamp controls.
- Data export and actions: Provides explicit JSON/CSV export, and supports task creation, navigation, cancellation, archiving, and copying task IDs.
- Status filtering: Provides a “needs attention” status filter for finding tasks that are pending approval, failed, blocked, or otherwise require review.
Installation and Enablement¶
Before installation, ensure that your Harness version is 0.1.2-alpha.1 or higher.
Add the plugin using the official command:
dsh plugin --profile <name> add dsh-ds-kanban
Installing, updating, or removing a plugin changes the configuration composition and client bundle discovery; after installation, you need to restart the Host for changes to take effect.
After installation, select DS Kanban in the sidebar to open the kanban board. To update, run the add command again; to remove it, run:
dsh plugin --profile <name> remove dsh-ds-kanban
Typical Usage¶
The kanban board supports keyboard shortcuts and mouse operations:
- Open a task: Click a card or press
Enterafter focusing it to open its Harness task. - Navigate between columns: Use the left and right arrow keys to move focus between occupied columns.
- Search: Press
/to focus the search box. - Close the kanban board: Press
Escapeto close the kanban board or dialog. - Drag and drop: Only blank cards in the Inbox and Ready columns can be dragged and dropped.
- Attention status: Navigate to “needs attention” to find tasks that are pending approval, failed, blocked, or otherwise require review.
Implementation and Security¶
- Implementation: The plugin declares
dsh.bundle.patch. It contributes a sidebar footer action and a Shell overlay through lifecycle-owned slots.board.tsis a pure authoritative state projection, whilesettings.tsowns manual placement and view preferences. The Host does not add HTTP routes, and browser mutations reuse already exposed RPC services. - Security and privacy: The plugin does not make external network requests, start servers, execute shell commands, or send telemetry. It reads list summaries and lightweight lifecycle/projection state, but does not request transcript content. Unknown settings formats are rejected.
Notes¶
- Goal Complete: Indicates that a persistent goal is complete; it does not mean reviewer acceptance.
- Stale status: Running cards that stop reporting are marked as stale.
- Automatic status override: Automatic status always overrides manual Inbox/Ready placement.
- Settings format: Unknown settings formats are rejected, and the Client retains its last accepted snapshot.
