Introduction

When developing agents in DeepSeek Harness Web, reviewing the code changes generated by the Agent is a key step in debugging and optimization. Traditional review workflows often require leaving the Web UI or frequently switching context during a session. To maintain a smooth development flow on the Web, the dsh-diff-review-likecodex plugin provides a Codex-style interactive Diff review solution, allowing developers to compare and review files recently modified by the Agent in a side-by-side view without leaving the DSH interface.

What Is This

dsh-diff-review-likecodex is a client-side plugin maintained by new-Beginner. It addresses the issue of file changes becoming mixed together across multi-turn conversations through an interactive sidebar Diff panel, a compact runtime floating bar, and conversation-turn-based change tracking. The plugin is designed to integrate into the DSH Web development workflow and provide a Codex-like file review experience.

Core Features

The main capabilities of the plugin are as follows:

  1. Mode Support
Standard, PTC, and Creator modes are supported, but Minimal mode is not currently supported.

  2. Diff Review
Review files recently modified or created by the Agent in the Diff panel.
Edits to existing files and newly created files can be undone (reverting deleted files requires tooling support).

  3. Interactive Feedback
Add comments to changed code lines, and ask the Agent to continue making updates based on the feedback or to answer questions about the changes.

  4. Readability Settings
Automatic wrapping of long text can be enabled in the plugin configuration (disabled by default) to make long code lines easier to inspect.

  5. Context Preservation
Newly captured Diffs retain three real context lines before and after the change point and do not fabricate missing historical context.

  6. Runtime UI
While a conversation turn is running, a compact floating review bar appears at the top. After the turn ends, the bar fades out automatically, while the final card always displays all files.

  7. Change Isolation
Use the “Turn Picker” to load the file edit records for a specific conversation turn, preventing confusion between edit records from multiple turns.
Absolute paths and relative path aliases in the same workspace can be merged to avoid duplicate counting; files with the same name in different directories are distinguished by directory name.

Installation and Enablement

The plugin is licensed under the MIT License. After confirming that the plugin has been published, install it with the following command:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-diff-review-likecodex

After installation, the plugin is registered in the Web profile.

Typical Usage

The workflow is as follows:

  1. Enter an instruction in the Chat UI and generate code.
  2. Click the changed file in the Diff panel.
  3. Open the review page to view change details or add comments.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

Applicable Scenarios:
Suitable for developers who review code in Standard, PTC, and Creator modes of DeepSeek Harness Web.

Notes:
* The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process; it is recommended to check the source code and license before installing it.
* Minimal mode is not supported.
* The plugin has an optional peer dependency dsh-better-sidebar (version >=0.19.1 <0.20). After installing this dependency, the review page can be accessed through a new tab in the sidebar; otherwise, it falls back to the native right sidebar tabs.
