Introduction¶
When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH), integrating multiple model providers can make the model selection menu lengthy, requiring frequent scrolling to find a specific model. The dsh-model-fold plugin refactors the menu structure by grouping models by provider, making model selection more efficient.
Plugin Overview¶
This plugin is maintained by loyalchiiina and aims to solve the problem of an overly long model list. It enhances the official component through CSS and DOM manipulation, enabling grouped display and quick model switching without moving or deleting React nodes.
Core Features¶
- Provider-first display: The menu lists only provider names and model counts by default, providing an overview of all providers within a single screen.
- Three modes: hover / panel / list:
- Default hover mode: Hovering over a provider title slides out a model subpanel on the right.
- Panel mode: Clicking a provider expands a fixed panel on the right.
- List mode: Clicking a provider expands the model list below it.
- Mode and font size switching: Supports cycling through the three modes by double-clicking a provider title or the settings bar at the bottom of the menu, and supports adjusting font size inside the panel (10/11/12/13).
- Visual indicators: The current provider and model are highlighted in bold brand color, while selected items in the panel retain checkmarks.
- Theme adaptation: Colors and typography fully follow the official
--dsw-*theme variables; backgrounds are opaque, providing sufficient contrast. - Zero intrusion and offline: Pure DOM enhancement only, without modifying the React rendering structure; no network access and no network requests.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install it using the official DSH plugin command:
dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-model-fold
After installation, you must restart the DSH client for it to take effect.
Usage¶
- View models: Hover over a provider title on the left, and the model list under that provider will slide out on the right.
- Switch modes: Double-click any provider title to cycle between “hover expand” and “list expand.” Or click the settings bar at the bottom of the menu to switch.
- Adjust display: In panel mode, click the settings bar at the bottom to adjust the font size.
Notes¶
- Kernel version requirement: The DSH kernel version must be >= 2.0.15-next.
- Scope: It only enhances the Composer model menu (
div[role="menu"]); the/modelcommand dialog is not affected. - Privacy: The plugin does not connect to the network and does not collect or upload any data.
Conclusion¶
For users working with multiple model providers, dsh-model-fold significantly reduces the visual burden of model selection through grouping and quick switching. The plugin logic runs entirely locally and has good compatibility.
