Introduction

The plugin ecosystem of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) needs a convenient management entry point. Existing approaches often rely on external catalogs or unintegrated interfaces, requiring developers to manually locate plugins and verify source code and licenses, which is inefficient. By providing a localized interface, this plugin integrates browsing, searching, filtering, and installation workflows within the DSH environment, delivering a stable plugin discovery and usage experience.

Plugin Overview

lovstudio/dsh-plugin-marketplace is a local-first plugin marketplace. It syncs metadata from public repositories into a local IndexedDB snapshot through two providers, GitHub and dshfind, for use in Web settings and the sidebar. All browsing, search, and filtering operations are based on the local snapshot and do not require real-time access to external APIs.

Core Features

  • Local-first architecture: syncs repository metadata into IndexedDB and supports local reads.
  • Multi-provider support: supports GitHub (via the topic:dsh-plugin topic) and dshfind.
  • Search and filtering: supports Google-style syntax, sorting, pagination, aspect filtering, and keyword suggestions.
  • UI integration:
  • Registers settings.plugins.tab (id market) in settings.
  • Registers sidebar.footer.action at the bottom of the sidebar.
  • Provides a shell.overlay modal.
  • Registers a settings.plugin.item card in the plugin settings items.
  • Quality assessment: provides grade (S/A/B/C), score (0-100), and risk flags.

Installation and Enabling

Before using the plugin, ensure your environment meets the following prerequisites:
- Node.js 22.19+ or 24+
- pnpm 11

Install the plugin with the following command:

pnpm dsh plugin --profile web add -w github:lovstudio/dsh-plugin-marketplace#v0.1.9

After installation, you can see a tab named “market” in the DSH Web settings interface, or find the corresponding action entry at the bottom of the sidebar.

Typical Usage

After installation, you can start and use the marketplace in the following ways:

Option 1: Build from source (recommended)

git clone --depth 1 --branch dsh-v0.1.2-rc.1 https://github.com/deepseek-ai/deepseek-harness.git
cd deepseek-harness && pnpm install && pnpm run build
pnpm dsh plugin --profile web add -w github:lovstudio/dsh-plugin-marketplace#v0.1.9
pnpm dsh web

Option 2: Use npx (no source build required)

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add -w github:lovstudio/dsh-plugin-marketplace#v0.1.9
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web

After starting it, open the marketplace in Settings or the sidebar, then browse and search plugins and view their quality assessment information.

Notes

  • Permissions and security: This plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Before installation, always check the plugin’s source code and license (MIT).
  • Token management: When testing a token on the settings page, the system does not save drafts. If a test fails or writing is refused, the draft is retained and a save failure is reported. Leaving the token field empty preserves the stored token.
  • GitHub rate limits: When a GitHub rate limit is triggered, the system retains the current page and cooldown time, then retries that page up to three times.
  • Local development: For local development, place the repository outside the Harness directory and link it via the DSH_HOME environment variable and -w link:/path/to/....

Conclusion

This plugin provides DSH with an efficient and stable plugin management entry point through local caching and IndexedDB. Its quality assessment and clear search/filtering features reduce plugin management complexity. For more details and source code, see its GitHub repository.
