Foreword

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture. When an agent needs to control local media playback or system volume, users usually have to manually switch windows or use keyboard shortcuts. The dsh-audio-control plugin provides a Web interface panel, allowing direct operation of local audio in the browser.

Overview

This is a DSH client plugin. The owner is Li-Mingshuang. It provides multimedia session control, system volume adjustment, mute switching, and other features through a Web interface.

Core Features

  • Multimedia session control: Automatically lists all media sessions (such as NetEase Cloud Music, Spotify, browser tabs, etc.) and supports play/pause, previous track/next track.
  • System volume control: Provides a slider to adjust the main volume (0–100%), supports one-click mute, and updates in real time.
  • Audio output indicator: A small dot is displayed in the panel title bar to indicate whether audio is currently being output.
  • Floating panel: Fixed in the bottom-right corner, collapsible into a small round button, and does not obstruct the chat area.
  • Hot updates: Frontend changes are automatically reloaded by client-hmr.

Installation and Enabling

This plugin is a DSH profile bundle. After installation, it is mounted automatically, without requiring manual configuration changes.

  1. Make sure the machine running the Web GUI is on Windows and has PowerShell installed (powershell.exe is sufficient; pwsh is not required).
  2. Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add git+https://github.com/Li-Mingshuang/dsh-audio-control.git
  1. After restarting the Web GUI, the control panel will appear in the bottom-right corner.

Usage

The operations on the panel fall into two categories: buttons and sliders.

  • Media control buttons: For each media session, supports previous track, play/pause, and next track. The mute toggle controls the system main volume.
  • System volume: Drag the slider to adjust the system main volume (range: 0–100%).
  • Panel interaction: Click the round button in the title bar to collapse or expand the panel.

Notes

  • Platform limitation: Supports Windows only.
  • Configuration method: This is a DSH profile bundle with a built-in combined patch, so no manual configuration changes are needed.
  • Hot update mechanism: Frontend changes are automatically hot-reloaded by client-hmr without refreshing the browser; host-side changes (routes/scripts) require restarting the GUI.

Summary

This plugin addresses the need for local audio control through a Web interface, making it suitable for users who need to manage media playback centrally in a DSH environment. For more details, see the GitHub repository.
