Introduction¶
The plugin-based architecture of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) supports extending core functionality. In multi-workspace development scenarios, different workspaces often require different system prompts to define the behavioral logic of the AI. Manually pasting or modifying prompts is error-prone and hard to manage. The dsh-workspace-prompts plugin solves this problem: it allows you to configure an independent custom system prompt for each workspace and automatically inject it into sessions when new sessions are created.
What Is This¶
dsh-workspace-prompts is a DeepSeek Harness plugin maintained by Fayelin12. It provides DSH with the ability to manage custom system prompts “per workspace”: each workspace has one active prompt, which is embedded into the system prompt of newly created sessions, and can be managed through a modal dialog.
Core Features¶
- Session header entry: Provides an action button in the session header to open the management modal.
- Modal management: Supports creating, editing, and deleting prompts in the modal, as well as setting a prompt as the currently active one.
- Single active prompt: Only one prompt is active per workspace at any given time.
- Data persistence: Configuration data is saved in a file in the workspace root directory.
- Persistence across restarts: The configuration data is persisted to disk and remains available after restarts.
- Agent tools: Provides the
workspace_prompt_getandworkspace_prompt_settools, which the Agent can call to view or update the current workspace prompt.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install the plugin using the official command:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-workspace-prompts
After installation, restart dsh web to activate the plugin.
Typical Usage¶
- In any workspace session, click the “Workspace Prompts” button on the right side of the session header.
- Create a prompt in the modal and click “Set as Active”.
- Create a new session in that workspace; the end of the system prompt will automatically include
## 工作区提示词and its content. - The Agent can directly call the
workspace_prompt_getandworkspace_prompt_settools to manage prompts without opening the modal.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for developers who need to maintain different AI behavior logic across different workspaces. Data is stored in the .workspace-prompts.json file in the workspace root directory (a hidden file) and moves with workspace migrations or backups.
Important semantics:
A prompt is embedded into a session when the session is created. Subsequent configuration changes (editing, deleting, or switching the active prompt) only affect sessions created afterward. Existing sessions (including sessions resumed across restarts) always use the version embedded at creation time. This avoids behavior drift in historical sessions.
The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to check the source code and license (MIT) before installing.
Conclusion¶
Through configuration files and modal management, this plugin enables flexible configuration and persistence of workspace-level prompts. It is suitable for developers who want to precisely control AI behavior in different workspaces.
