Preface

The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” dsh-prime-orchestrator aims to address the need to orchestrate Prime Agent sessions inside a DSH agent. It turns a DSH agent into a delegation engine, providing a full set of interfaces from the host side to the model side, enabling agents to manage goals, monitor sessions, coordinate subagents, and control queues.

Plugin Overview

The plugin is maintained by mrme000m and follows the MIT License. It ships as a single installation package, integrating core Prime Agent capabilities into the DSH ecosystem, including a host engine, model-side tools, Web UI integration, and a complete orchestrator agent preset.

Core Capabilities

Host Engine

The plugin provides the following core components on the host side:
* Shared delegation table: Used to manage delegation state across sessions.
* Context interface: Provides the ctx.prime context object.
* Communication layer: Includes a Protocol-7 daemon socket client and the /prime JSON API.
* Configuration namespace: Provides a prime-orchestrator settings namespace.

Model-Side Interface

The model interacts with the orchestration layer through the prime_agent tool, supporting the following operations:
* Session management: Delegation, monitoring, steering, coordination, goal management, heartbeat, and logs.
* Subagent control: Reading logs, inspecting, and managing recursive subagents.
* Session control: Switching models mid-session, controlling queues and recursion depth, forking branches, and exporting logs.

Web UI Integration

The plugin adds the following features to the DSH Web interface:
* Prime Fleet Queue: Located on the right side of the Web GUI (toggleable at the bottom of the sidebar), displaying the live delegation/session/event stream.
* Settings area: The Settings → Prime Orchestration section, used to configure engine parameters.
* Pending issue banner: A browser-side shell.overlay component.

Agent Presets and Tools

  • Agent preset: prime-orchestrator, derived from standard, with full coding capabilities and orchestration interfaces.
  • Cloudflare Workers AI tools: Provides cf_ai_run (run a model) and cf_ai_models (list models) tools.

Installation and Activation

Prerequisites

Before installing, ensure the following tools are installed in your system PATH:
* dsh CLI: @deepseek-ai/dsh
* prime-agent CLI: pip install prime-agent

Installation Command

Install the plugin via npm:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-prime-orchestrator

Activation and Usage

After installation completes, you can create a session in the Web interface and select the prime-orchestrator preset. Alternatively, you can set it as the default agent via Settings → Agent presets.

On startup, the plugin materializes the preset files into the $DSH_HOME/.agent-presets/prime-orchestrator/ directory.

Compatibility and Notes

Version Compatibility

The plugin is compatible only with the following DSH versions:
* 0.1.0-rc.7
* 0.1.1-rc.2
* 0.1.1-rc.2 (npm latest)

For 0.1.2-alpha, it is currently incompatible due to changes in the client plugin API.

Layout Limitations

The default DSH layout has only a three-column Shell. dsh-prime-orchestrator needs to add a fourth Shell column named prime through its bundled layout-override.js logic. This is implemented by rewriting the entry URL in the bootstrap manifest and does not modify any files in the host file system.

Binary Output Handling

Binary output (such as images or audio) produced by calling interfaces like Cloudflare Workers AI through this plugin is written to files instead of raw byte streams. For example, the binary result from cf_ai_run is saved as a <model-slug>-<timestamp>.<ext> file, and a file path is returned for the model to reference.

Uninstall

Uninstalling the plugin automatically restores the default three-column Shell layout in DSH.
