When developing with DeepSeek Harness, recording requirements, issues, or temporary ideas often requires frequent switching between the chat window and external note-taking apps. The ming-xia/dsh-stickies plugin integrates sticky notes into the conversation page, providing a lightweight capability for context capture.
Plugin Positioning¶
ming-xia/dsh-stickies is a local-first Markdown sticky note plugin. It stores data locally through the Harness Web Server and does not depend on cloud accounts or external data services. The project is maintained by developer ming-xia and is licensed under the MIT License.
Core Functionality¶
The plugin primarily provides the following capabilities:
- Chat Integration: Embeds a sticky notes directory in the conversation page, displayed alongside the current conversation.
- Interaction Model: Supports dragging sticky notes out into resizable floating cards.
- Markdown Support: Supports full Markdown syntax editing and preview, including headings, lists, task lists, links, images, code blocks, blockquotes, tables, and emphasis styles.
- Interactive Task Lists: Markdown task lists support direct checking, and the checked state is written back to the original content.
- Management Features: Supports sticky note colors, sorting, resizing, revision history, and version rollback.
- Data Storage: Data is stored locally, requiring no cloud account and with no dependency on external data services.
Installation and Enablement¶
In a DeepSeek Harness environment with DSH CLI installed, run the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add https://github.com/ming-xia/dsh-stickies
After execution, restart the Web profile as prompted, then open the Harness Web page. A 🗒️ Sticky Notes button will appear in the conversation title bar.
Typical Usage¶
The plugin provides a local preview interface for easy viewing and testing.
Start the local UI preview:
node scripts/serve-local.mjs --port 3401
Visit http://localhost:3401/stickies/ui.
By default, the local preview stores sticky notes in the work/notebooks directory of the project at the same level as the plugin directory. You can also use --notes <path> to specify another local data directory.
Use Cases and Notes¶
The plugin is suitable for developers who need to quickly capture context, drafts, or checklists during a conversation.
Note:
* Sticky notes are saved in the notesRoot directory configured in the plugin.
* The repository contains only source code, not personal sticky note content.
* It is recommended to review the source code and license before installation.
Summary¶
dsh-stickies provides DeepSeek Harness users with a note-taking solution that does not require leaving the current workflow, through two display modes: embedded and floating. The project code is open source, and data is fully local.
