In long conversations in DeepSeek Harness, quickly locating historical message nodes usually relies on page scrolling or searching. To address this location-efficiency issue, hzpeng57/dsh-lens-rail provides a left-edge-based navigation approach, mimicking the visual style of Codex and making message tracking more intuitive.
This is a Codex-style left-side message navigation rail for the conversation list on the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web client. It displays the message flow with vertical lines, supports hover highlighting and click-to-jump, and solves the problem of quickly locating context in long conversations.
Core Features¶
- Placed on the left edge: The rail is positioned at the far left side of the conversation list, located by
left: calc(var(--dsh-sidebar-width) + 4px), ensuring it does not overlap with the DSH application sidebar. - One line per message: Each line corresponds to one message (user or assistant). Tool lines, command lines, and turn tails are skipped, keeping the navigation rail aligned with the continuous conversation flow.
- Lens hover effect: When hovered, the current line is the longest, while adjacent lines gradually shorten with a Gaussian profile, producing a Codex-style visual focus.
- Scroll-aware highlighting: Based on the scroll position, the line in the current reading area is automatically highlighted, with a brand color and glow effect.
- Click to jump: Clicking any line causes the page to load older history on demand and then scroll to the corresponding message line.
- Theme awareness: Uses DSH alias tokens to ensure proper display under both light and dark themes.
Installation and Enabling¶
- Install the plugin via the command line:
dsh plugin --profile web add @hzpeng/dsh-lens-rail
- After installation, restart the
dsh webprocess and perform a hard refresh in the browser (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R) to apply the interface update.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for developers interacting with long conversations on the DSH Web client. Before installation, review the source code and license (MIT).
Note: This plugin must be enabled under the dsh web configuration file.
