Introduction¶
The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web interface can make it difficult to distinguish user input from assistant replies during long conversations due to accumulated context. The dsh-turn-colors plugin helps distinguish context by adding background colors to conversation turns. It is a client-side plugin in the DSH ecosystem.
Plugin Overview¶
This plugin is maintained by developer geecraft23 and is open-sourced under the MIT license. Its core purpose is to add subtle background colors to the conversation interface of DeepSeek Harness Web.
Core Features¶
- Turn coloring: A user message and its corresponding final assistant reply share the same color; the next conversation turn uses a different color.
- Unchanged areas: System prompts, reasoning traces, tool calls, and message action areas retain their original styling and are unaffected.
Installation and Enablement¶
Before installation, ensure the environment meets the following requirements:
* Node.js ^22.19.0 or >=24.0.0
* pnpm
Use the official CLI to add the plugin to the web profile configuration:
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh@alpha plugin --profile web add @geecraft23/dsh-turn-colors
Start DeepSeek Harness Web:
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh@alpha web
Removing the Plugin¶
To remove the plugin:
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh@alpha plugin --profile web remove @geecraft23/dsh-turn-colors
After removal, restart DeepSeek Harness Web.
Notes¶
- Plugin commands are resolved against the current DSH alpha version.
- It is recommended to review the source code and license before installation.
