DSH (DeepSeek Harness) is a pluggable intelligent agent development platform whose core philosophy is “everything is a plugin.” In the model inference stage, different LLMs usually need to be connected using an API key. If you have already installed and logged into Claude Code CLI locally, you can directly reuse its login state and configuration without having to apply for a separate API key. The dsh-oh-my-claude plugin is designed for this purpose: it registers Claude Code CLI directly as a DSH LLM provider, with no extra runtime dependencies.
Plugin Overview¶
This plugin is maintained by lcestou and belongs to the model inference category. Its core role is to drive a locally logged-in claude command-line tool and use it as DSH’s backend model provider. It does so by calling the claude -p command and interacting through the stream-json protocol, so it directly inherits all of the Claude Code CLI’s login information, Hook mechanism, CLAUDE.md file, MCP server configuration, and rate-limiting policies.
Core Features¶
After integration, the plugin mainly provides the following capabilities:
- Real-time model list: Uses the list of models accessible from your logged-in Claude Code CLI, and the model selector updates in real time.
- Session resumption: Supports restoring context by session.
- Permissions and approval relay: Relays DSH control permissions (such as accepting edits and auto-execution) to Claude, while displaying them as DSH’s original control-panel icons.
- Multimodal support: Supports image input.
- Interactive panels: Provides tabs such as Memory, Rewind, and Changes for managing context and file changes.
- Remote workspaces: Supports creating workspaces on a remote SSH server and running Claude Code sessions on that server.
Installation and Activation¶
Before installation, make sure your environment meets the following conditions:
- DSH version: dsh 0.2 (0.2.0-rc.1 or newer) is required.
- Claude Code CLI: The command-line tool must be installed in
PATHand logged in (claude --versionruns correctly, and runningclaudeno longer prompts you to log in).
Run the following commands in a terminal to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-oh-my-claude
# Or install directly from the repository
dsh plugin --profile web add github:lcestou/dsh-oh-my-claude
After installation, restart the DSH Web service to load the plugin:
systemctl --user restart dsh-web.service
# Or restart `dsh web` according to your runtime setup
After restarting, locate “Oh My Claude” in the DSH model selector and choose a model to start a conversation. If the selector shows “Oh My Claude (not logged in),” run claude auth login on the machine where DSH is running, or click Log in on the DSH settings page.
Typical Usage¶
- Basic chat: Choose any model under “Oh My Claude” in the model selector, then write code or plan tasks directly.
- Use the panel: In the chat interface, click the
✻button to open the sidebar. You can switch to “Changes” to view file diffs, or switch to “Memory” to view session memory. - Remote development: Click “Add workspace,” select “ssh box” in the dialog, and enter the remote server information. After saving, the remote directory becomes a local workspace, and Claude will perform operations on the remote server.
- Cost monitoring: The bottom status bar in the chat interface displays the estimated cost for the session and the number of cached tokens (estimated based on API rates and not counted for subscription users).
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Use cases: It is suitable for developers who already use Claude Code CLI locally and have a Claude subscription or API access. This plugin is a good fit when you want to operate Claude through DSH’s unified interface while retaining its local configuration and permission-management capabilities.
- Permissions and security: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. If the DSH process has write access to the target directory or SSH server, Claude will have the same level of access. Be sure to review the source code and license before installing.
- Desktop client limitations: If you are using DSH Desktop (macOS and Windows), install and update it through its built-in “Plugins” page. Do not use the
dsh plugincommand. This is because the desktop application usually does not expose the shellPATHto plugins, and some Claude Code CLI features required to run on Windows (such as SSH boxes and shell login) are not yet fully supported.
Summary¶
dsh-oh-my-claude is a lightweight integration solution. It addresses the pain point of needing to configure an API key to call Claude in DSH and enables reuse of local CLI tools. For developers who are accustomed to using Claude Code CLI, this is an effective way to bring Claude’s capabilities seamlessly into DSH workflows.
