Introduction¶
The native goal system in DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is primarily manipulated through conversation commands (such as /goal) or model tools (create_goal / get_goal / update_goal). This approach lacks intuitive visual feedback in the Web interface and requires remembering specific commands or API invocation patterns.
The dsh-goal-mode plugin brings a visualized Goal mode to the DSH Web interface, turning operations that were previously confined to the command line into visible, interactive interface components and lowering the barrier to use.
Plugin Overview¶
- Name: dsh-goal-mode
- Function: Provides a visualized goal mode for the DeepSeek Harness Web interface
- Maintainer: xlennart
- Category: Client
- License: MIT
Core Features¶
This plugin provides its functionality in the DSH Web interface through two main entry points:
-
Full-Lifecycle Goal Bar
The plugin registers aconversation.input.dockentry above the Composer input box, replacing the original built-in goal bar. Depending on the state, it displays different content:
- No goal: Displays a◎button; clicking it expands the “Set Goal” creation form.
- Goal present: Displays the status label, goal text, turn progress bar (n/limit), and the “Limit reached” badge.
- Action buttons: Provides pause (⏸), resume (▶), edit (✎, supports multi-line), complete (✓), clear (🗑), and collapse.
- Completed state: Displays the completion banner and the “Start New Goal” button. -
Multi-Line Editing and Creation
Goal content is implemented with a multi-line text box, supporting automatic line wrapping and height adjustment by dragging. Users can submit withCtrl+Enter. In the creation form, users can also set the turn limit in the same form. -
Composer Toolbar Entry
A goal entry button and phase color dot (green = in progress / yellow = paused / red = blocked) are added to the toolbar on the left side of the input box (conversation.input.left). Clicking it expands or collapses the goal bar. The goal bar supports collapsing into a content-adaptive capsule shape. -
Settings and Persistence
- General settings toggle: Provides a toggle insettings.general.itemfor “Show goal entry in the input toolbar.” The setting is persisted in theui-goal-modesection.
- Dedicated goal settings page: Provides a standalone “Goal” settings page insettings.section, displaying the current session state, turn count, and a compact preview. Long goals can be expanded for viewing. -
Zero Idle Interference
When no goal is set, nothing is rendered above the Composer (unless the creation form is explicitly opened), keeping the interface tidy.
Installation¶
Before installing, ensure DeepSeek Harness Web GUI (web profile) version 0.2.0-rc.2 or later is installed.
The plugin is provided in two forms. Form A (the official plugin package) is recommended:
dsh plugin --profile web add <tgz 路径>
After installation, refresh the page or restart the process for the changes to take effect.
Usage and Principles¶
- Forms: Form A is a standalone npm package structure (
dsh.plugin.json+cordis.patch.yml+ build artifacts) and is installed withdsh plugin add; Form B is dynamic plugin source code that can be loaded within a session usingcordis_define+cordis_run(retained for debugging). - Data storage: Goal data is stored in the session log and persisted through
goal/changeevents. The plugin is responsible only for display and operations. - Technical implementation: Uses
useProjection('goal')for real-time data projection. Operations are performed through thectx.remote.goalschannel and support optimistic concurrency.
Notes¶
- Version compatibility: Requires DeepSeek Harness Web GUI version 0.2.0-rc.2 or later (plugin 0.2.0 corresponds to 0.2.0-rc.2).
- Architecture change: Starting with version 0.2.0, the plugin no longer publishes the runtime invariant companion file (
./invariant). Under the 0.2 discipline, the plugin contains only slot registration and settings form projection, with no independently forkable observation point. - Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to inspect the source code and license before installation.
