Preface

The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When managing multiple projects or different workflows simultaneously, manually maintaining MCP server lists, skill configurations, memory banks, and prompts can become cumbersome and error-prone. This plugin addresses the problems of fragmented configuration and cumbersome environment switching. It provides developers with a centralized console to manage various resources in DeepSeek Harness.

Core Features

The plugin manages resources centrally through eight tabs:

  • Scenario Management: Combines MCP servers, skills, personas, memory, and prompts into a single “scenario.” When entering a scenario, the entire environment switches automatically; when exiting, it reverts to the state before switching.
  • MCP Services: Supports creating, reading, updating, and deleting MCP servers, provides tool-level toggles (individual tools can be disabled), and supports server notes and masked key display.
  • Skill Management: Supports grouping by source directory, displays skill status, and can detect overlaps between skills with the same name.
  • Sub-Agents: Manages persona configurations using .md files, supports directory injection depth configuration, and enforces tool allowlist/blocklist restrictions.
  • Prompt Management: Supports one-click switching between prompt presets, quick prompts (inserted directly into the input box), and retains backups from the last five generations.
  • Memory Management: Memory is stored as .md files under the scenario directory and is automatically injected into the context when the scenario is entered.
  • Conversation Management: Supports archiving conversations, grouping by project, searching, bulk restoration and cleanup, and importing records in formats such as Claude Code / Cursor.
  • Compatibility: Provides host version checking, descriptions of degraded features, and the data storage path.

Installation and Enablement

The plugin is developed for Node.js >= 18. The installation command is as follows:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-plugin-tool-management@latest

After installation, perform a browser hard refresh (Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + R) and go to the Settings page. You will see the “Tools” tab.

Typical Usage

  1. Environment Switching: On the “Scenarios” tab, configure a separate set of MCP servers, skills, and personas for each project. When switching work, simply switch scenarios without manually modifying configuration files.
  2. In-Chat Management: Enter / in the chat box and select the “Tools” section to directly enable or disable currently active MCP servers, skills, memory items, and so on. Changes take effect immediately.
  3. Memory and Prompts: Write .md memory files in the scenario directory. After entering the scenario, the plugin automatically injects them into the context. After setting presets on the “Prompts” tab, click to apply them.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

This plugin is suitable for developers who need to switch work environments frequently, manage complex MCP toolchains, or follow strict conventions for memory banks and prompt usage.

  • File Security: The plugin only manages its own files and does not modify skill source files.
  • Data Security: MCP keys are masked by default; displaying plaintext requires a token. Export is a transcription, not a backup. For a complete backup, use the conversation archiving feature.
  • Configuration Persistence: After restarting or upgrading DSH, the plugin’s configurations are retained automatically.
  • Recycle Bin: Deletions of skills, memory, personas, prompts, and scenarios are moved to the recycle bin. Deleted workspace registrations can be restored with one click using the “Workspace Registration” feature.

Summary

By providing a unified panel and scenario-based switching, this plugin lowers the barrier to using DeepSeek Harness and improves the efficiency of multi-environment collaboration. For more details and source code, refer to the project homepage.
