Introduction

The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” For roleplay developers, reusing existing SillyTavern (Tavern) character card resources in DSH is a practical need. DSH RolePlay aims to solve this pain point. It is compatible with Tavern character cards and also provides native Agent RolePlay capabilities.

Plugin Overview

DSH RolePlay is the Tavern character card compatibility and native Agent RolePlay plugin for DeepSeek Harness. The plugin is maintained by RiemannRe3 and licensed under the MIT License. It integrates the character card library, conversation interface, and right-side function pages into the same view, allowing card selection and configuration without leaving the current conversation.

System Requirements and Installation

Before use, the following conditions must be met:

  • Node.js version: 22.19.0 to 22.x, or 24.13.1 to 24.x.
  • Environment dependency: DeepSeek Harness must be installed first.

Installation steps are as follows:

  1. Run the installation command in the terminal to install the plugin to the DSH web profile:
dsh plugin --profile web add @riemannre3/dsh-roleplay
  1. Start the DSH Web service:
    dsh web

Core Features

The plugin provides the following core capabilities:

  • Character card compatibility: Supports importing Character Card V2/V3 PNG and JSON files.
  • Multimodal configuration: Supports multiple greetings, world books, presets, Persona, and Regex.
  • Ecosystem interfaces: Compatible with commonly used EJS, iframe, MVU, and TavernHelper interfaces.
  • In-card interaction: Supports in-card HTML, interactive buttons, and independent frontend runtime status.
  • Session management: Supports session saving, refresh recovery, and restart recovery.
  • Interface integration: The card library, conversation, and right-side function pages are in the same interface.

Usage Flow

After installation, start using it with the following steps:

  1. Open settings, select a model provider, and fill in the API Key and model name.
  2. Enter the conversation interface and click the “Tavern” entry on the left.
  3. Click “Import” and select a Character Card V2/V3 PNG or JSON file.
  4. Expand the character card, select a greeting, and create a new game.
  5. After entering the conversation, the right side of the page can open function pages such as World Book, Preset, Regex, Frontend, Cards, and Persona.

Plugin Management

In DSH settings, find “Plugins -> DSH RolePlay” to enable or disable the plugin. After disabling, the Tavern entry and related runtime capabilities will not be loaded, but imported character cards and session data will still be preserved. Re-enable the plugin to continue using it.

To update or uninstall, run the following commands:

  • Update:
dsh plugin --profile web add @riemannre3/dsh-roleplay
  • Uninstall:
dsh plugin --profile web remove @riemannre3/dsh-roleplay

Notes

  • The plugin runs with DSH process permissions. Pay attention to security and permission scope when using it.
  • Please review the source code and license before use to ensure compliance with usage requirements.
