Preface

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) renders responses based on the content blocks returned by the provider. When a single model response is split into multiple reasoning segments, the interface lists them one by one, which can make the thinking area appear fragmented. This plugin addresses this issue by merging consecutive reasoning segments within the same response into a single segment.

Core Features

  • Merge reasoning blocks: Merges adjacent reasoning blocks within a single response.
  • Unified display: Displays only one thinking area in the interface.
  • Content preservation: Does not alter the original reasoning content, text, tool calls, usage, or finish reason; it only changes the presentation.

Installation and Activation

  1. Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add "github:zhourenke/dsh-reasoning-merge"
  1. After installation, restart DSH.
  2. After restarting, the DSH plugin list will show the Chinese/English name, description, and icon of this plugin, switching automatically with the interface language.

Scope

The merge only occurs between two adjacent reasoning segments within the same response.

  • A single response corresponds to a single model call.
  • If text or a tool call appears in between, the current segment ends, and any subsequent reasoning starts a new segment.
  • The next response after a tool call also starts a new reasoning segment.

Notes

  • No configuration options or UI controls: Works immediately after installation; no additional setup is required.
  • Version compatibility: Tested successfully with DSH v0.2.0-rc.2 (2026-09).
  • Independent site: This plugin is listed in the community directory https://www.skillhub.cn/plugins/zhourenke/dsh-reasoning-merge. The directory has no official affiliation with DeepSeek / High-Flyer.

Conclusion

This plugin optimizes the display experience of multi-segment reasoning through simple merge logic, making it suitable for scenarios that require handling continuous thinking streams in DSH.
