Introduction

When DeepSeek Harness (DSH) runs long-duration tasks (such as goal loops, background tasks, agent reasoning, or task board execution), users usually have to passively wait for the progress bar. The dsh-attention plugin solves this problem by automatically displaying micro-activity suggestions while a task is running, turning waiting time into productive micro-output (30-second to 3-minute micro-movement, mental activation, micro-learning, or quick organizing).

What Is This?

This is a plugin maintained by zhaozixi, designed to turn idle waiting during task execution into productive fragmented time. The plugin monitors task status, delivers activity suggestions at a regular pace while a task is running, and provides an activity pool editor that supports custom activity content.

Core Features

The plugin mainly includes the following features:

  1. Multi-source task monitoring: Supports four task signal sources — agent/status, goal, jobs, and task-board — to uniformly detect task start/finish.
  2. Restart recovery: After the host restarts, it automatically recovers and restores the running task window.
  3. Reminder engine: Delivers activity suggestions at a regular interval (default 5 minutes) and supports custom intervals.
  4. Built-in activity library: Includes 43 preset micro-activities randomly assigned across four categories (reshuffled for each new task session) with no duplicates within the same session.
  5. Activity pool editor: Allows adding, removing, and modifying activities, persisting changes to the profile.
  6. Global topmost floating window: Uses the maximum z-index to stay above all popups, and displays runtime, number of suggestions, and a countdown.

Installation and Enablement

Use the following command to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add @zhaozixi/dsh-attention@latest

After installation, you need to restart DSH (host half-reload) and hard-refresh the browser (client half-activation).

Configuration

Override the attention entry in cordis.patch.yml under the profile:

- id: attention
  config:
    enabled: true
    remindIntervalMs: 300000 # 提醒间隔(点「已完成」可立即推进,不等此间隔)
    firstReminderDelayMs: 5000 # 任务开始后首条提醒延迟
    categories: # 活动类别池
      - micro-movement
      - mind-refresh
      - micro-learning
      - quick-organize
    maxActivitiesPerSession: 6 # 每会话建议上限

Notes

  1. Least privilege: The plugin only reads DSH’s event bus and task status; it does not access the network, files, or execute commands.
  2. Security isolation: The HTTP interface listens only on 127.0.0.1 and does not expose ports to the outside.
  3. Local persistence: The custom activity pool is written to the profile directory (for example, ~/.dsh/profiles/web/attention-activities.json).
  4. Graceful degradation: If task-board is missing, it is silently skipped; missing dependencies do not cause errors.

Conclusion

dsh-attention turns waiting time during DSH task execution into productive fragmented output, making it suitable for developers who want to take micro-breaks or do micro-learning between long tasks. With the built-in library of 43 activities and an editable activity pool, the plugin offers a flexible configuration approach. For more details, see the GitHub repository.
