Preface¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture. The web client at chat.deepseek.com supports features such as search and deep thinking, but these capabilities are not exposed through a public API. If you need to call these web-client capabilities from scripts or agents without maintaining a heavy browser automation environment, this plugin provides a direct integration path.
Plugin Overview¶
dsh-deepseek-web is a DSH plugin implemented in pure Node.js, bringing the web-client capabilities of chat.deepseek.com into Harness. It does not require an API key and directly uses your own web-client account for asking questions and analyzing files.
- Type: DSH plugin
- Maintainer: zgrajdnhj7806-svg
- License: MIT License
- Positioning: Web tool
Core Features¶
The plugin registers three model tools, one runtime skill, and a settings panel:
-
Model tools
deepseek_web_ask: directly calls the web client to ask questions; supports deep thinking, web search, new sessions, and multi-turn conversations.deepseek_web_analyze_lines: reads a specified line range of a file (for example, lines 30 to 52), sends it to the web-client model for analysis, and the response can reference line numbers.deepseek_web_status: queries login status, token digest, credential source, and account ID.
-
Runtime skill
deepseek-web: tells the model in what scenarios it should use the web-client model and how to perform line-range analysis.
-
Settings panel
- Provides a one-click login panel on the DSH settings page. It supports grabbing the Token via the Edge browser, eliminating manual configuration.
Installation and Enablement¶
Use the officially provided installation script to add the plugin to the web profile:
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/zgrajdnhj7806-svg/dsh-deepseek-web/main/scripts/install.sh | bash
After the script runs, restart the configuration in DSH for the change to take effect:
dsh web
Usage Examples¶
The plugin ships with a standalone CLI tool, bin/dsweb.mjs, which can be used for self-testing or running standalone line-range analysis.
- Check whether the plugin is registered correctly
node bin/dsweb.mjs --check
- Run standalone line-range analysis
Suppose you want to analyze lines 30-52 oflib/pow.jsfor memory-safety-related issues:
node bin/dsweb.mjs --file lib/pow.js --lines 30-52 --instruction "只关注内存安全"
Important Notes¶
When using this plugin, you must comply with the following limitations and principles:
- Single-threaded only: All calls are fully serialized inside the plugin, allowing only one web-client request to be active at a time. Concurrent or parallel questions are not supported; forcing concurrency will cause failures.
- Maintain a human-like question pace: Keep a frequency close to that of a real user (one question at a time, progressing serially). High-frequency, batch, or automated bombardment may trigger DeepSeek’s risk control, leading to account rate limiting or freezing.
- For personal learning and automation only: Comply with DeepSeek’s service terms and do not use it for purposes that violate the terms. Content sent to the web client leaves your local machine; do not send sensitive code or credentials.
- Tokens expire: The web-client token is usually valid for a few days to a few weeks. Re-login is required after it expires.
Conclusion¶
dsh-deepseek-web enables using the web-client model without a public API. Its pure Node.js implementation reduces environment dependencies, making it suitable for personal code analysis and deep learning assistance.
