Overview¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin architecture. Environment data and persistence usually depend on specific configurations or databases. When migrating a work environment or backing up session records, this separated storage model can be inconvenient. dsh-vault aims to solve this problem by writing all conversations and logs directly into the workspace folder, making the folder a self-contained, portable archive.
Core Features¶
The plugin is maintained by XiaoWind and focuses on providing localized memory storage for DSH. Its main features include:
- Self-contained archive: Stores all conversations and logs inside the workspace folder.
- Real-time mirroring: Mirrors session logs in real time under the
dsh-session-vault/directory tosessions/<id>.lfiles. - Title caching: Workspace titles are cached in
workspace.json. - Automatic restoration: Automatically restores sessions from DSH persistence on startup or when a workspace is opened.
- Portable paths: Rebinds the session
cwdto the current absolute path during import. - Idempotent operations: Does not write when no changes are needed.
- Automatic completion: Records are automatically completed, and
/vault exportsupports forced rewriting. - Slash commands: Provides the
/vaultslash command for viewing status, restoration, and export. - Zero dependencies: No third-party dependencies and no build steps.
Installation and Enablement¶
When installing, you must use the github:owner/repo format because the plugin is not published to the npm registry.
DeepSeek Harness Desktop¶
- Add the plugin in the desktop app’s Plugin Management.
- Enter the specification:
github:XiaoWind/dsh-vault. - After installation, you must restart the desktop application for the changes to take effect.
CLI / Web¶
# 安装插件
dsh plugin --profile web add github:XiaoWind/dsh-vault
After installation, please restart the Web application. The plugin depends on the dsh-app-boot version (for example, 0.2.0-rc.2) and related peerDependencies. Incompatible versions will be rejected during installation.
Typical Usage¶
The plugin provides the /vault slash command for management:
/vault status: View vaulted workspaces and the number of sessions in each workspace./vault restore: Immediately import sessions and titles from the vault for known workspaces./vault export: Immediately (re)write the current persisted data to the vault files.
Migration Process to a New Computer¶
- On the original computer, copy the entire workspace folder (including
dsh-session-vault/). - Copy the folder to the new computer.
- Open the folder as a workspace on the new computer.
- The plugin automatically detects and restores sessions and titles from the vault.
Notes¶
- Restart required: After installing on the desktop version, you must restart the desktop application. After installing on the CLI/Web version, please restart the Web application.
- Record integrity: DSH persistence logs require
seqto start from 0 and be consecutive. Incomplete records (such as non-consecutiveseq) will be skipped, and the reason will be noted in the logs. - Runtime capture: The plugin only mirrors events while it is running. If a session continues to append events while the plugin is not loaded, those records will not be written to the vault files. When the session is opened again, the plugin compares and completes the files.
- Idempotency: Sessions that already exist in persistence will not be imported again.
