Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) supports extending functionality through plugins. When configuring agents or global rules, developers often need a persistent prompt. This plugin solves the problem of manually editing configuration files or repeatedly pasting background information by allowing prompt editing and injection directly from the settings page. It is a purely incremental plugin and does not replace or disable any official plugins.

Plugin Introduction

  • Name: dsh-user-prompt
  • Author: Sxuan-Coder
  • Category: Web Tools
  • License: MIT
  • Core Value: Adds a custom user prompt feature to DSH and supports one-click import of global rules from Claude Code and Codex.

Installation

Use the official CLI to install:

dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-user-prompt

After installation, restart DSH or refresh the interface to load the plugin.

Enablement and Configuration

  1. Open Settings → Plugins → Plugin Configuration → Custom Prompt.
  2. Check Enable Injection.
  3. Enter a Markdown-formatted prompt in the text box, or click Import Claude Code / Import Codex.
  4. Click Save. After saving, the change takes effect immediately for the next request.

Import and Export

The plugin supports importing rules from other tools and allows exporting the current configuration to a file.

One-Click Import

  • Claude Code: Reads ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md.
  • Codex: Reads ~/.codex/AGENTS.md.

The imported content is wrapped with boundary markers to support idempotent imports and prevent repeated accumulation.

Export File

The configuration can be exported to ~/.dsh/user-prompt.md. Users can modify it with an external editor and then reload it.

Slash Commands

  • /user-prompt: View the current injection status.
  • /user-prompt path: View the export file path.

Working Mechanism and Limitations

  • Injection Method: The content is injected through DSH’s context channel and is displayed as a separate “Context Injection” line in the conversation flow. It can be expanded for viewing.
  • Template Variable Conflict: If the prompt contains complete {{...}} patterns, DSH will treat them as template variables. The plugin will reject saving such content.
  • Session Snapshot: Older sessions may retain historical snapshots. After modifying the prompt, open a new session to see the changes.
  • Compatibility: The plugin is compatible with multiple agent presets such as standard, ptc, and cordis, as well as plan mode.

Technical Details

  • Dependencies: Depends on peer dependencies such as @deepseek-ai/cordis, @deepseek-ai/dsh-commands, and @deepseek-ai/dsh-settings.
  • Code Structure: lib/index.js (Host logic), lib/prompt.js (pure logic processing), lib/client.js (browser-side UI).

Summary

dsh-user-prompt is a practical incremental plugin suitable for users who need centralized prompt management, want to migrate rules from Claude Code, or wish to keep official plugins unmodified. For more details, visit the GitHub repository.
