Plugin Positioning

The web platform of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture. In the current environment, switching themes typically requires manually editing configuration files or refreshing the page. dsh-theme-manager solves this problem with a two-level theme manager, allowing users to select and apply themes through the interface without touching code.

Core Features

The plugin is maintained by runcat-tommy and is open-sourced under the MIT license. It primarily provides the following capabilities:

  1. Two-level selection interface: Adds a “Theme Manager” entry point on the Settings page. The left side displays top-level categories (culture/scenes, developers, etc.), while the right side shows specific style cards with color scheme previews.
  2. Real-time application: Registered through the theme service; clicking “Use” switches the theme immediately without refreshing the page.
  3. State persistence: The currently selected theme is saved in browser localStorage and automatically restored after refreshing or restarting. The record is cleared automatically when switching back to the system default appearance.
  4. Bilingual support: Interface copy follows the system language (zh / en).
  5. 58 built-in styles: Covering four main categories:
    • Culture/Scenes (23 styles): such as Chinese ink painting, Suzhou gardens, Japanese Ukiyo-e, Cyberpunk, DeepSeek Deep Sea Blue, etc.
    • Developer themes (8 styles): such as Catppuccin Mocha, Dracula, Tokyo Night, Nord, etc.
    • Strong contrast (7 styles): such as Black & Gold Contrast, Red & Black Contrast, Acid Neon Green, etc.
    • Flag series (20 styles): Color hierarchy automatically derived from the flagSpec() generator, including flag color schemes for the United States, China, Japan, Germany, etc.
  6. Update mechanism: Automatically checks the latest npm version at startup and every 6 hours. When a new version is available, a one-time toast and a persistent bubble appear in the bottom-right corner. Supports “One-click update”, “Ignore this version”, or “Remind me later (24 hours)” on the Settings page.

Installation and Enablement

Before using this plugin, ensure DeepSeek Harness web 0.1.0-rc.6 or a newer version is installed.

Installation Steps

Install it using the dsh plugin management tool:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:runcat-tommy/dsh-theme-manager

After installation, restart the dsh web process to activate the plugin.

Usage

  1. Open the Settings page of DeepSeek Harness.
  2. Click the Theme Manager entry.
  3. In the left-side list, select a top-level category (e.g., “China”, “Developer”, “Flags”).
  4. Click the Use button in the style card on the right.
  5. The interface switches immediately to the selected theme style. The style is automatically retained after refreshing the page.

To restore the default appearance, click “Restore Default Appearance” at the bottom, or switch the system default option in the “Appearance” row on the “Settings” page.

Updates and Maintenance

The plugin includes automatic update-checking logic.
* Check frequency: At application startup and every 6 hours during runtime.
* Update methods: Both npm install and GitHub install methods support one-click updates. The update process resolves the latest version and restarts automatically (or prompts manual restart).
* Rollback functionality: Supports one-click rollback to the previous version.
* Development install: If installed using the link: method or manually, automatic updates are not supported; restart after updating in the source directory.

Conclusion

dsh-theme-manager provides a structured and visualized theme management solution for DeepSeek Harness web. With its 58 built-in styles and automatic update mechanism, developers can quickly adjust the interface style to suit different scenarios or personal preferences.
