Introduction¶
The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) ecosystem extends its capabilities through a plugin mechanism. When running for long periods or handling multiple tasks across sessions, coding agents often struggle to maintain a consistent memory of project state. dsh-project-portfolio is an unofficial plugin that encapsulates project information in embedded skills and tools, enabling the agent to maintain a Markdown-based project list and history under the user’s configuration directory.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides the following core capabilities:
- Embedded skill: Includes the
project-portfolioskill, which has four built-in project templates: general, GitHub PR/Issue, job seeking, and side projects. The skill is installed with the plugin as a resource package. - Read-only status tool (
portfolio_status): Used to view the completewatchlistand a directory index for each project file (including title, status, goal, next steps, and last checked time). - History log tool (
portfolio_log): Used to append dated history lines to a specific project file (automatically creating a History section). The tool validates file paths using slug checks to ensure only files within the configuration directory can be modified. - Incremental sync: Implements incremental updates based on the Watchlist mechanism.
Installation and Enabling¶
Install it using the official plugin command. The plugin will automatically register skills and tools.
dsh plugin add dsh-project-portfolio --profile web
After installation, the plugin is automatically mounted via the dsh.bundle.patch mechanism and registers its skill templates and tools into the current session.
Typical Usage¶
- Trigger automatic loading: Ask about project state in the conversation, for example “where do my projects stand?”, and the agent will automatically load the relevant skill.
- View the project list: Call the
portfolio_statustool to retrieve the current monitored projects and file header information. - Append history: Call the
portfolio_logtool to add a timestamped entry for the specified project.
Notes¶
- This plugin depends on DSH’s
toolsservice to work correctly. - All data is stored locally in the configured
portfolioDir; it makes no network requests and collects no telemetry data. - File paths are validated to prevent directory traversal attacks.
- As a community plugin, it has no affiliation with the official DeepSeek ecosystem.
Summary¶
dsh-project-portfolio addresses memory gaps faced by coding agents in multi-project scenarios. It separates project management from conversations and stores it as user-controlled local Markdown files, accessible to the agent through tool interfaces. It is suitable for scenarios that require long-term project progress maintenance or month-over-month task tracking.
