Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides a subagent registry and parallel tool capability, making it possible to implement complex code review workflows. Existing DSH Git plugins mostly stay at the level of diff viewing or workspace cleanup. dsh-review-squad leverages DSH’s parallel subagent capabilities to turn code review into a standardized workflow step.

What It Is

This is a parallel multi-role code review plugin. It dispatches four read-only reviewer subagents (security, correctness, testing, style) via the /review command. Each reviewer can independently configure the model and reasoning effort, and their results are finally aggregated into a structured report grouped by severity.

Core Features

  • Parallel Multi-Role Review: Runs security, correctness, testing, and style checks concurrently.
  • Read-Only Mode: Reviewers are strictly restricted; tools such as file writing, subagent invocation, and web search are disabled to ensure environment safety.
  • Independent Configuration: Each reviewer can specify a different model (e.g., a strong model for security and a fast model for style) and reasoning effort.
  • Background Execution: Runs as a background task by default, without blocking the conversation.
  • Structured Report: The aggregated report is grouped by severity for quick issue localization.
  • Hot Configuration Updates: Supports overriding configuration in real time through the Web UI or settings.yaml, without restarting.

Installation & Activation

Before using it, ensure that the DeepSeek Harness (dsh) version is ≥ 0.1.1-rc.2.

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-review-squad

Typical Usage

Slash Command

Use the following command directly in chat:

/review # 完整小队评审未提交更改
/review staged # 仅评审暂存区更改
/review commit abc1234 # 评审指定提交
/review path src/lib # 评审指定路径
/review security tests # 仅评审特定角色
/review --style # 排除风格评审
/review stop # 停止当前评审会话

Tool

Agent can also invoke the code_review tool, with parameters including:
* scope: review scope (diff / staged / commit:<sha> / path:<dir-or-file>)
* focus: additional focus points
* reviewers: reviewer list (comma-separated; --key can exclude)

Configuration

Configuration can be overridden via the review-squad: node in ~/.dsh/settings.yaml, or modified on the Web UI settings page.

# ~/.dsh/settings.yaml
review-squad:
  language: zh
  timeoutMs: 300000
  reviewers:
    - key: security
      role: Security reviewer
instructions: Hunt for injection, authz gaps, committed secrets, unsafe crypto.
      agentOptions:
        provider: deepseek-official
        model: deepseek-v4-pro
        reasoningEffort: max
    - key: style
      role: Style reviewer
      instructions: Naming, duplication, complexity, conventions.
      agentOptions:
        provider: my-cheap-gateway
        model: glm-4.6-flash

Use Cases and Notes

  • Dependencies: Depends on spawn and tool-str-replace-editor provided by @deepseek-ai/dsh-base.
  • Permission Limits: The plugin runs with the current DSH process permissions; reviewer tools are strictly restricted and cannot write files or call external networks.
  • Report Limits: Report generation has a maximum character limit (maxReportChars); when exceeded, content with INFO → LOW → MEDIUM severity is discarded.
  • Compliance: The plugin follows the MIT license; it is recommended to inspect the source code before installation.

Conclusion

For scenarios requiring deep, automated code review within DSH workflows, this plugin provides a flexible and controllable solution. For more details and source code, refer to the project repository.
