Introduction

The core philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When building complex conversational workflows, managing conversation context and history is a common requirement. The previous version of dsh-chat-zone depended on the Cordis architecture, while dsh-chat-zone-std is a rewrite based on dsh-std Community v0.15. It provides a set of commands for creating and managing chat zones through a standardized directory structure, aiming to address the organization of local conversation files.

Plugin Positioning

dsh-chat-zone-std is a plugin for the dsh-std ecosystem. It does not depend on @deepseek-ai/* packages; instead, it maps product features through @dsh-std/adapter-dsh. The core responsibility of this plugin is to serve as a container for portable tools and commands, establishing chat zones in the local file system.

Core Features

The plugin registers the following commands and tools:
* Commands:
* chat-new: Creates a new conversation.
* chat-list: Lists conversations.
* Tools:
* chat-zone-new: Creates a new chat zone.
* chat-zone-list: Lists chat zones.

Installation and Activation

Before installation, ensure that the environment meets the requirements. Run the following commands to complete the installation:

dsh plugin --profile web add @dsh-std/adapter-dsh
dsh plugin --profile web add github:lasdrder0705/dsh-chat-zone-std

After installation, restart the dsh web process to load the plugin. If you need to test different directory structures, you can override the default by using the DSH_CHAT_ZONE_HOME environment variable.

Behavior and Usage

The plugin creates chat zones in the local file system, with the directory structure fixed as:

~/dsh_CHAT/<local yyyy-mm-dd>/chatN
  • Numbering Rule: File names follow the chatN naming scheme. For the same day, numbering starts from chat1; if a conflict exists, the number increments, up to a maximum of 8 retries.
  • Working Method: The plugin is only responsible for creating folders. After creation, you must open the generated path as a DSH workspace to proceed with subsequent interaction and configuration.
  • Environment Variable: Setting DSH_CHAT_ZONE_HOME allows you to customize the home directory, making it easier to isolate data in test environments.

Applicable Scenarios and Cautions

This plugin is suitable for users who need to persist conversation history to the local file system and want to manage it in a standardized way using the DSH plugin ecosystem.

Before use, please note the following facts:
1. Dependency Requirement: The @dsh-std/adapter-dsh plugin must be installed, and the current DSH environment must be dsh-std Community v0.15.
2. Directory Operations Only: The plugin itself does not provide a chat interface. It is an auxiliary tool for generating chat zone folders.
3. License: This project follows the MIT License.
