When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH), skill files are often scattered across local directories such as ~/.dsh/skills and lack a unified structured description, which can lead to usage omissions or unclear boundaries. The dsh-skill-dossier plugin aims to address this issue. It establishes skill dossiers and work reporting mechanisms to help developers manage and review skills, and converts daily briefs into structured work records.

Core Features

The plugin consists of three main sections:

  • Skill Management: Supports browsing, searching, and filtering skills by direction/category. Provides disable (move to trash), reinstall, and delete functions.
  • Skill Dossier: Creates a dossier for each skill, recording direction (10 categories), usage scope, capability boundaries, application scenarios, source attribution, invocation statistics, measured success/failure, and directory token cost.
  • Work Reporting: Converts daily briefs into daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Weekly and monthly reports include a contribution chart (darker color indicates more progress entries that day) and the core information for each project.

Installation and Enablement

The prerequisite is that DSH has been installed (running npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web once is enough) and the Node.js version is ^22.19.0 || >=24.0.0.

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-skill-dossier

Model-side Tools

The plugin provides three model-side tools:

  • skill_dossier: Reads the dossier for a skill by name, used to judge its applicability before loading the full skill content.
  • skill_archive: Writes a dossier for a skill, including direction, usage scope, capability boundaries, and application scenarios.
  • skill_review: Lists skills pending review, sorted by “volatile direction + long-term unused + long since last review.”

Work Report Data Source

The work report module is optional and by default reads reporter/brief/YYYY-MM-DD.md files in the workspace. Each project is a section headed by ## Project Name. The field names include date, role, implementation, today's progress, todos, and issues.

The plugin provides three read-only views:
* Daily report: Shows today’s full details.
* Weekly report: Shows Monday to Sunday of the current week, including a contribution chart and four lines of core information for each project.
* Monthly report: Shows the summary from the 1st of the current month to today.

Platform Support and Limitations

  • Web profile only: Headless mode is not supported.
  • Platform support: Only macOS / Linux are supported. Windows support was removed on 2026-09-17.
  • Invocation statistics: Only invocations that occur during runtime are counted; historical data cannot be retroactively captured.
  • Deletion mechanism: Deleting a skill is a two-step wrapper (move to trash first, then delete). Non-filesystem skills are denied deletion.

Ecosystem Context

The DSH philosophy is “everything is a plugin.” This plugin is maintained by JeffreySuen-x and uses the MIT license. Community catalogs (such as skillhub.cn) have no official affiliation with DeepSeek or Huanfang.
