Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) natively supports plan mode (@deepseek-ai/dsh-plan-mode), including the /plan and /plan off commands as well as per-session projections. However, the default composer control (dsh-client-ui-plan) only displays a “Plan ×” chip after plan mode is activated, and does not provide any visible mode control in the default Build state. OpenChamber provides a persistent mode control bar that can be toggled with the Tab key. This plugin replicates that design in DSH, uses the same command channel, and does not introduce additional mode terminology.

Plugin Overview

dsh-plan-build-toggle is a DeepSeek Harness client plugin. Author: jdqingm, License: MIT. It provides the composer with a persistent, OpenChamber-style Plan｜Build toggle, driving DSH’s native /plan command channel through the host plan projection.

Core Features

  • Persistent segmented pill: Displays a Plan｜Build pill in the mode-control area (conversation.input.plan) of the composer. Highlighting: Plan uses warning color, Build uses neutral color.
  • Bidirectional switching: Clicking Plan runs /plan; clicking Build runs /plan off, matching manually typed commands.
  • Tab key switching: Use Tab / Shift+Tab to switch in a session’s composer editor (OpenChamber/opencode convention). It only takes effect when the cursor is inside that session’s editor; it does not handle other modifier-key combinations; if the event has already been consumed by another handler, it is passed to subsequent handlers; it does not work if the plan projection is absent.
  • Source of truth: The host projection is the source of truth for state. While the agent is running, toggle actions are queued as pending and are automatically corrected as projection frames arrive.
  • Inline errors: Displays an inline error state when the command channel rejects a toggle.
  • Built-in chip replacement: A bundle patch disables the built-in ui-plan row to avoid seat conflicts.

Installation and Activation

Install using the official CLI:

dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-plan-build-toggle@0.1.0

After installing, you must restart the DSH application.

Typical Usage

  • Click Plan to run /plan.
  • Click Build to run /plan off.
  • Press Tab / Shift+Tab in a session’s composer editor to switch.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

  • Plan mode is a soft guide (policy prompt section), not a mandatory sandbox.
  • It does not control draft sessions (plan state is per-session).
  • The plugin does not work when the plan projection is missing (for example, drafts or presets without plan mode).
  • It takes effect after restarting DSH.
