DeepSeek Harness (DSH) supports deployment across multiple hosts. When a remote server is running a DSH Web instance, viewing or controlling remote sessions often requires opening a new window or switching browser tabs, which disrupts the local workflow. The dsh-remote-dsh plugin adds a “Remote” tab to the local sidebar, takes over the current page with the remote host’s DSH interface, and provides session status indicators.
This is a DSH plugin maintained by hutao562. It adds a sidebar tab to the Web client. Clicking the tab redirects the current page to the remote host’s DSH Web GUI and displays a remote session status dot at the top of the sidebar.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install it using the official plugin command:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-remote-dsh
After installation, DSH needs to be restarted once.
Typical Usage¶
- Run
dsh webon the remote host and obtain a URL that includes?token=. - Use SSH to map the remote port to a local loopback port:
ssh -L 3081:127.0.0.1:3080 user@remote-host
- Click the “Remote” row in the local sidebar, then click “+ Add”.
- Enter the address
http://127.0.0.1:3081. - Paste the token printed by the remote
dsh webin the settings row, then click Pairing.
Core Features and Limitations¶
Local Loopback Port Is Required¶
The remote DSH session Cookie is set as HttpOnly; SameSite=Strict, so it can only be accessed through a local loopback port (such as ssh -L or frp stcp/xtcp). Directly accessing a public domain name or non-loopback IP will result in a 401 or 403 error.
Session Status Badge¶
The “Remote” row at the top of the sidebar contains a status dot. The color meanings are as follows:
- Blue: A session is running on the remote host (including sub-agents).
- Green: Since the last time the remote view was viewed, a session completed a turn.
- Amber: A session on the remote host is in “awaiting approval/question/plan review” status. This status requires the remote host to have a peer plugin version 4 or later installed.
- Red: The remote status cannot be read (usually because the peer plugin is not installed on the remote host).
Development and Hot Reload¶
This plugin has no build step. Modifying lib/index.js requires restarting DSH; modifying lib/client.js takes effect after refreshing the page. The first installation supports hot reload and does not require a restart.
Known Limitations¶
- When taking over the page, it covers the local sidebar, and returning relies on the top bar button.
- The Esc key may not work inside an iframe.
- The token is generated per process, so re-pairing is required after the remote
dsh webrestarts. - It does not yet support integrating remote hosts as local model tools.
Ecosystem Context¶
The DSH philosophy is “everything is a plugin.” This plugin adds remote control capability to the local sidebar but does not provide Agent integration features. For more implementation details and file structure, refer to the GitHub repository.
