Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides plugin extension capabilities. In addition to functional tools, the community also offers playful plugins. dsh-wooden-fish is a playful cosmetic plugin designed to add an interactive visual element to Web mode, helping to relieve boredom during development or use.

Plugin Overview

  • Plugin Name: dsh-wooden-fish
  • Maintainer: hotpot-labs
  • License: MIT
  • Core Value: DSH wooden fish — DSH gets to work while you tap the wooden fish, adding a little merit each day.

Core Features

This plugin renders through the shell.overlay slot in DSH Web mode and provides the following capabilities:

  1. Visual Rendering: Displays a wooden fish and a wooden mallet in the center of the page.
  2. Background Blur: Uses backdrop-filter to blur the background while keeping the DSH Web UI below it clickable.
  3. Interactive Feedback: When the wooden fish is clicked, the mallet strikes it, a “Merit +1” prompt appears at the top, and the merit counter increases.
  4. Audio and Speech: Plays the tapping sound (wooden-fish.m4a) and calls the Web Speech API to read out “Namo Amitabha Buddha.”
  5. Theme Adaptation: The wooden fish, mallet, and merit counter follow the application appearance — black in light mode and white in dark mode.

Installation and Enablement

Install the plugin using the official command:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-wooden-fish

After installation, start DSH Web mode to see the effect:

dsh --profile web web

Notes

  • Audio and Speech Dependencies: Browsers require a user gesture (that is, clicking the wooden fish) to unlock audio. In addition, the speechSynthesis feature depends on a Chinese voice pack installed in the system or browser.
  • Removal Method: The current version does not provide an in-page hidden switch. To remove this overlay, you must stop or uninstall the plugin.

Conclusion

This plugin adds fun to DSH Web mode through simple interaction. For more technical details and source code, visit the GitHub repository.
