Developers and users of DeepSeek Harness often need to submit high-quality bug reports upstream when running autonomous workflows or encountering plugin failures. Manually completing report workflows can be cumbersome and risks accidentally leaking sensitive information such as API keys and local paths. The dsh-issue-reporter plugin is designed to address this issue by providing an end-to-end workflow from fault discovery and privacy compliance checks to report generation.

The plugin is maintained by GooDAnDReaDY and released under the MIT License. It is a client-side tool that provides a visual issue-writing interface and integrates features such as automatic redaction, duplicate detection, AI optimization, and automatic diagnostics.

Core Features

1. Plugin Catalog and Dual Grouping

The plugin scans the current DSH runtime composition and detects installed plugins. It groups plugins into two categories: native @deepseek-ai/ plugins and third-party community plugins. Private, invalid, or duplicate packages are filtered out. Clicking a plugin row opens the integrated issue writer.

2. Authentication and Permission Management

Users authorize through GitHub’s standard OAuth Device Flow. The plugin requests repo permissions to support issue creation and duplicate search. Generated access tokens are securely stored via DSH Credentials (environment variable GITHUB_ISSUE_REPORTER_TOKEN). An explicit “Sign out” action is provided for switching accounts.

3. Privacy Boundaries and Redaction

The built-in editor automatically redacts bearer tokens, API keys, credential URLs, local system paths, and email addresses. Before submission, the interface displays a redacted preview and counts the number of redacted items. For users who are not signed in, a prefilled GitHub issue-form link is provided.

Before submission, the plugin queries the target repository’s Issues in real time. It performs normalized search across titles and bodies and ranks potential duplicates to avoid noise.

5. Screenshot Upload

Supports uploading up to 5 screenshots (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP). Images are processed in memory only; upload is executed via GitHub CLI (gh issue create --attach) using a temporary directory, which is cleaned up automatically after upload.

6. AI Optimization and Logs

Provides a POST /dsh-issue-reporter/ai/optimize endpoint that uses an LLM to convert unstructured error descriptions into clear reproduction steps and titles.
Provides a GET /dsh-issue-reporter/logs endpoint to view recent session logs, making it easy to include relevant server tracing information.

7. Autonomous Agent Reporting Tool

Registers the ctx.tools.report_issue tool. Autonomous coding agents or orchestrators can automatically invoke this tool when a plugin encounters an unhandled exception or crash to generate a structured bug report.

8. Issue Monitoring and Status Tracking

Provides a POST /dsh-issue-reporter/issues/batch-status endpoint to batch-query the status of submitted Issues and display the results on the “My Reports” tab.

9. Smart Labeling and Component Detection

Provides a POST /dsh-issue-reporter/labels endpoint to query labels in upstream repositories and automatically recommend matching category labels.

10. Interaction and Updates

Supports pasting screenshots from the clipboard (Ctrl+V) and dragging-and-dropping files. Includes a DSH-standard settings card updater that supports one-click plugin updates.

Typical Usage

View Session Logs

Check host session records through the logs endpoint and filter relevant error information.

GET /dsh-issue-reporter/logs

AI Description Optimization

Convert unstructured error notes into standard reproduction steps.

POST /dsh-issue-reporter/ai/optimize

Agent Automatic Reporting

In agent logic, invoke the tool to file an Issue.

ctx.tools.report_issue({
  target: "plugin-name",
  title: "Error description",
  body: "Details..."
});

Upload Screenshots

Upload through the GitHub CLI attachment feature.

gh issue create --attach screenshot.png

Batch Status Query

Check the status of submitted Issues.

POST /dsh-issue-reporter/issues/batch-status

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

This plugin is suitable for users who need to frequently troubleshoot plugin failures in the DSH environment and submit well-formed GitHub Issues.

Notes:
* Permission Requirement: The OAuth scope requires repo for Issue creation and duplicate search.
* User Confirmation: Any GitHub write operation (creating an Issue, uploading attachments) requires explicit user confirmation (confirm: true).
* Runtime Environment: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process; source code and license should be reviewed before installation.
* Dependencies: Requires Node.js 20+ and depends on @deepseek-ai/cordis version ^4.0.2.
