Introduction¶
When building an agent with DeepSeek Harness (DSH), if the agent needs to verify web content or browse pages, a system browser window is usually opened. This window can cover the conversation interface, interrupt the agent’s workflow, and make automated screenshots difficult. dsh-web-verify-panel is designed to address this problem by routing web requests into the DSH sidebar, preserving context continuity.
What Is This¶
dsh-web-verify-panel is a DSH plugin that reuses the sidebar panel and renders web pages in a sandboxed iframe. It solves the window-switching problem when an agent needs to open a web page for verification and allows the computer_screenshot tool to directly capture the page area without dealing with system browser window occlusion.
Core Features¶
- Same-window workflow: The page and conversation remain in the same window, so the agent does not need to switch back and forth between a browser and the conversation.
- Direct screenshots:
computer_screenshotcan directly capture the page area without being blocked by a system browser window. - Sandbox isolation: The panel renders in a sandboxed iframe, does not share the system browser’s signed-in state, and tabs in each session are independent from one another.
- Resource reuse: It reuses the sidebar panel and does not launch an additional browser process.
- Tool support: Provides the
web_verify_open(url, title?)tool, which opens a web page in the sidebar and returns the page area as arectthat can be used directly as theregionforcomputer_screenshot. - Automatic adaptation: When a page is opened, the panel is automatically widened (about 60% of the viewport, capped at 1600px) and restored after 60 seconds; it also automatically patches the Router Standard preset so the tool is available from the first turn of a session.
Installation and Activation¶
Before installing, make sure the prerequisite plugin dsh-better-sidebar (sidebar card browser) is installed.
# 复制插件文件到 profiles 目录
Copy-Item -Recurse -Force dsh-web-verify-panel "$env:USERPROFILE\.dsh\profiles\web-desktop\node_modules\"
# 在 cordis.patch.yml 末尾追加以下内容
# - insert:
# - id: web-verify-panel
# name: 'dsh-web-verify-panel'
# 运行补丁脚本
node "$env:USERPROFILE\.dsh\profiles\web-desktop\node_modules\dsh-web-verify-panel\scripts\patch-router-preset.mjs"
# 重启 DSH,并在 Web 页面执行硬刷新(Ctrl+Shift+R)
Typical Usage¶
- Open a web page: Use the tool
web_verify_open(url, title?)to open the target page in the sidebar. The tool returns arectobject representing the page area within the DSH window. - Capture the page: Use
computer_screenshot(region=rect)to directly capture that page area.
Use Cases and Considerations¶
- Dependencies: The plugin depends on
computer-user(screenshots) anddsh-better-sidebar(panel). If these dependencies are not installed, the tool is still registered, but opening and screenshots cannot be completed. - Compatibility:
- Windows desktop: Both opening and screenshots are available.
- macOS / Linux: Opening is available; screenshots require a platform-specific computer-use implementation.
- Web version: It works on the same machine; remote deployment only supports opening (manual viewing).
- Limitations:
- Sites rejected by response headers such as
X-Frame-Optionswill display blank. rectis calculated relative to the DSH window. If the DSH window is not fullscreen, first take a full-screen screenshot to locate the window, then obtain the page area.
- Sites rejected by response headers such as
- Security notice: The plugin runs with the current DSH process permissions. Review the source code and license before installing.
