Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture, aiming to provide flexible extensibility for model inference. In daily use, writing high-quality prompts in the dialog box is a frequent operation. If a prompt is not rigorous enough, the model output may deviate from expectations. DSH-Prompt-Optimization addresses this scenario by providing native input-box optimization, helping users quickly improve prompts and project requirements during conversations.

Plugin Overview

DSH-Prompt-Optimization is a prompt optimization plugin for DSH. It helps optimize prompts and project requirements entered in the dialog box. The plugin is maintained by developer du-u-uck and licensed under MIT.

Core Features

The plugin mainly provides the following capabilities:
* One-click optimization: Optimizes the draft in the background and directly overwrites the input box.
* Undo: After a successful optimization, the original draft can be restored.
* Model configuration: Supports selecting a fixed optimization model in settings or following the current session.

Installation and Activation

Install the plugin under the Web profile. After restarting DSH Web, it will be available.

dsh plugin --profile web add github:du-u-uck/DSH-Prompt-Optimization

Usage

  1. Run optimization: Click the “Optimize Prompt” button next to the dialog box input field. The system submits the current draft to a backend model for optimization, and the result directly overwrites the input box.
  2. Model configuration: If you need to fix the optimization model, select it in “Settings → Prompt Optimization”. This setting is persisted, and the default value is “Follow Current Session Model”.

Notes and Boundaries

When using this plugin, be aware of the following limitations:
* Loss of references: After optimization, reference chips in the input box (such as @file) will be lost. Use the undo feature to restore them.
* Plain-text enhancement: Optimization is a plain-text enhancement and will not add requirements that were not present in the original text.
* Request limits: A single optimization request is limited to an input of 256 KB, an output budget of 4096 tokens, and a timeout of 120 s.

Conclusion

DSH-Prompt-Optimization provides a lightweight prompt optimization option for DSH Web, suitable for users who frequently adjust prompts. For more details, see the plugin directory or source code: DSH-Prompt-Optimization.
