Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a client tool based on a plugin architecture, used to interact with the DeepSeek web interface. During the developer preview stage, the default UI language is primarily English. Developers or users who need Polish must rely on community plugins to extend language support.
dragonk/dsh-locale-pl is a community-maintained plugin whose core purpose is to inject Polish (Polski) into the DSH language list, allowing users to switch to Polish in the settings.
Plugin Scope¶
This plugin belongs to the client category, is maintained by developer Dragonk, and is licensed under MIT. It does not modify the DeepSeek Harness core code or the node_modules directory; instead, it registers through the official @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-locale system and acts as a translation layer overlaid on top of the official system.
Installation and Activation¶
Installing the plugin requires running a command through the DSH plugin manager.
dsh plugin --profile web add github:Dragonk/dsh-locale-pl
After installation, the DSH process must be restarted for the changes to take effect. It is recommended to perform the following steps:
- Stop the current DSH process.
- Run the client command again:
dsh --profile web
Usage¶
After startup, navigate to the settings option in the interface.
- Open Ustawienia (Settings).
- Go to Ogólne (General).
- In the Język (Language) dropdown menu, select Polski.
The language selection is saved in the user’s configuration file and remains valid after restarting or reopening the browser.
To uninstall the plugin, use the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-locale-pl
After uninstalling, restart DSH. The interface will revert to the previous language or the browser’s default language.
Technical Details and Limitations¶
The plugin works through the official ctx.locale mechanism, with 43 namespaces and 1292 translated strings (achieving 100% coverage). For missing translation keys, the system automatically falls back to English.
Note the following points:
- Non-invasive changes: The plugin does not create its own i18n mechanism or modify upstream code.
- Uncovered areas: The following content is not affected by the plugin and remains displayed in English:
- Permission preset names (such as
Read Only,Workspace Write, etc.).
- Permission preset names (such as
- Environment requirements: Running the plugin requires the environment to meet the following requirements:
- The Node.js version must be 22 or higher (24 is recommended).
Summary¶
This plugin provides complete Polish localization for Polish-speaking DSH users without breaking the existing code structure. For Polish users who need to operate DSH reliably, it is a practical tool.
