In the DSH ecosystem, we often need to quickly invoke models with different capabilities during a conversation. Traditional approaches are often limited to the current terminal or a single context. The dsh-orca-agents plugin introduces local Orca as the execution plane, allowing the DSH Agent to act as the dispatcher and directly dispatch tasks such as Grok, Codex, and Claude in the local Orca environment.

Plugin Overview

This is a DSH workflow plugin maintained by aa2246740. It addresses the need to remotely invoke multiple models (such as Grok and Codex) in DSH chats. By using local Orca as the execution environment, it enables task dispatch and result retrieval.

Core Features

  • Architecture: The DSH Agent acts as the dispatcher, and local Orca serves as the execution plane.
  • Model Support: Supports dispatching Grok, Codex, Claude, Cursor, and Antigravity.
  • Environment Isolation: Automatically creates isolated worktrees and new empty projects; tasks run inside Orca, not in the DSH terminal.
  • Automatic Wake-up: After task completion, the Orca Stop hook triggers an automatic wake-up of the DSH background job.

Installation and Enabling

Before installation, make sure the official dsh (or npx @deepseek-ai/dsh) and pnpm are available in your PATH. Use the following command to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:aa2246740/dsh-orca-agents

The installation process runs pnpm in the $DSH_HOME/profiles/web directory. The repository already includes the compiled lib/, so no prepare step is required, and you do not need to modify the profile’s allowBuilds.

After installation, you must restart the DSH Host and refresh the browser page. The dsh plugin add command does not hot-mount into an already running process.

To install from a local directory or tarball:

dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-orca-agents
dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-orca-agents-0.2.0.tgz

Remove the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-orca-agents

Typical Usage

In a DSH conversation, simply describe your requirement without mentioning the tool name, path, or handle. For example:

Use Orca to have Grok build a weather webpage.

The plugin automatically performs the following steps:
1. Creates an empty git repository under ~/orca/projects/<name>.
2. Creates an isolated worktree.
3. Invokes the Orca CLI to launch the corresponding Agent (for example, Grok).
4. Executes the task.
5. After the task completes, the plugin listens for the Orca Stop hook, marks the Worker as done, and wakes the DSH background job.

Use Cases and Considerations

Dependencies:
* Orca Desktop (orca status --json works in the terminal). Recommended version: 1.4.193.
* DeepSeek Harness 0.1.5-rc.2.
* pnpm and git.
* At least one worker model recognized by Orca (grok/codex/claude/cursor/agy).

Runtime behavior:
* Task dispatch returns immediately and does not block the DSH conversation.
* The plugin only invokes the local orca CLI; it does not push DSH session exports, screenshots, .env, or Orca worktrees to a remote.
* Task dispatch does not require a GitHub account; only local git is needed.

Configuration notes:
* Regular task dispatch requires no extra configuration.
* Only use Orca Settings → Experimental when a “supervised path” is needed, i.e., when monitoring a directory until completion.

Summary

This plugin extends DSH’s model dispatch capabilities through local Orca, making it suitable for scenarios that require local, isolated code execution.
