Introduction¶
The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin”. When developing agents or using the default configuration, images generated by the assistant often require a more standard way of presentation. The dsh-image-container plugin is designed to solve this problem by providing a Codex-style gallery and lightbox for generated images in conversations.
What This Is¶
This is a client-side plugin maintained by aa2246740. It takes over the conversation.message.images slot in DeepSeek Harness and presents assistant-generated images in a gallery.
Core Features¶
- Image gallery and lightbox: Provides click-to-open lightbox and full-screen paging interactions.
- Grid layout: Supports laying out images proportionally and allows two or three images to be displayed side by side.
- Slot occupation: Occupies the public
conversation.message.imagesslot with priority-10, overriding the default built-in gallery.
Installation and Activation¶
Before installing, make sure the PATH environment variable includes the official dsh (if it does not, you can use npx @deepseek-ai/dsh) and pnpm.
Install using the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:aa2246740/dsh-image-conatiner
Or install using a local directory:
git clone https://github.com/aa2246740/dsh-image-conatiner.git
dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-image-conatiner
After installation, you must restart the Web Host and refresh the page for it to take effect.
Typical Usage¶
After the assistant generates images, the images are automatically laid out proportionally and displayed in a grid with two or three side by side. Click any image to enter full-screen lightbox mode, with paging supported.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- Target version: The plugin targets the official DeepSeek Harness 0.2.0-rc.2 (corresponding to npm
@deepseek-ai/dsh@0.2.0-rc.2). The package’s peer dependency is>=0.2.0-rc.1 <0.2.1; do not install it against the0.1.7alpha version. - Slot conflicts: Because the plugin occupies the
conversation.message.imagesslot, it overrides the default gallery included with Harness. - Updating old installations: If the previous installation was written to the profile via a
file:entry, change it to alink:entry pointing to this directory, then restart the Host.
Summary¶
By taking over the image slot, this plugin provides DSH with a more modern image display solution. For more details and the source code, see the GitHub repository.
