Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness(DSH)adopts an “everything is a plugin” architecture and extends its capabilities through plugins. dsh-cua-drive is a macOS-only plugin that provides DSH with Computer-Use capabilities based on a private cua-driver, for window clicking, screen reading, and application operations.
Core Features¶
- Platform restriction: Supports macOS only. On Windows and Linux, only the
cua_statusstatus tool is loaded, and Computer-Use functionality cannot be started. - Private runtime: Includes a private
cua-driverversion 0.20.0 (locked inruntime-lock.json). It runs on a plugin-dedicated socket and will not interfere with or hijack any existing Cua instances on the system. - System interaction: Provides capabilities such as window clicking, screen reading, and application operations.
- Permission management: On first launch, it requests Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions from the host process.
Installation and Enablement¶
- Ensure that
pnpmis available in your system PATH. - Add the plugin using the official CLI:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:aa2246740/dsh-cuadrive-mac
If `dsh` is not in your PATH, use:
npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add github:aa2246740/dsh-cuadrive-mac
- Restart DSH Host and refresh the page.

Notes and Development¶
- Installation differences: Installation via the official CLI requires
pnpmto be in the PATH. The plugin manager in DSH.app only accepts npm package names and does not support thegithub:protocol. Installing from GitHub skips thepreparescript and directly uses the compiledlib/. - Permission setup: The first launch requires an internet connection to download the
darwin-universalpackage to$DSH_HOME/dsh-cuadrive-mac/vendor/. Depending on how it is run, enable the corresponding permissions in System Settings (for DSH.app, enable DSH; for the CLI, enable Terminal / iTerm, etc.). - Status checks: Progress can be checked with
cua_status. The private runtime is located at$DSH_HOME/dsh-cuadrive-mac/. - Local development: After cloning the repository, first run the build and tests:
npm ci
npm test
npm run typecheck
npm run build
dsh plugin --profile web add .
This plugin provides Computer-Use capabilities to macOS environments in the DSH ecosystem by offering an isolated private driver. For more details, see the GitHub repository.
