DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts the “everything is a plugin” philosophy. In document workflows, generating polished presentations (PPT) with charts and animations often requires extensive manual adjustments. The ppt-expert plugin developed by TANGZHUO12 is designed to solve this problem.

This is a DSH extension package that bundles a “slide expert persona,” a LibreOffice Impress MCP server (9 tools), a matplotlib charting kernel, and real-time browser preview together. It takes a one-sentence requirement and outputs a finished presentation with animations and business charts.

Core Features

The plugin consists of three main parts: the expert persona, the MCP toolchain, and real-time preview.

  1. Slide Expert Persona
    The persona defines a 247-line system prompt, including layout recipes (a calibrated coordinate library for 25.4×14.29cm layouts), 11 redlines (including a machine-audited contrast check during audit), and chart data-shape contracts.

  2. LibreOffice Impress MCP Server
    It provides 9 tools, covering operations for documents, slides, shapes, text, animations, transitions, and exporting. In addition, it supports table_read (intelligent reading of xlsx/xls/ods/csv tables) and chart_make (18 business chart types rendered directly by matplotlib, 40-120ms per chart, native Chinese output).

  3. Browser Real-Time Preview
    When the model saves a document, the browser automatically opens a preview page (default port 127.0.0.1:18465). Afterward, it automatically refreshes each time a page is completed, and the preview page advances to follow the page currently being operated on by the agent.

Installation and Activation

The installation process requires running the setup.sh script to assemble the MCP server and Python virtual environment.

  1. Clone the repository into the DSH profiles directory:

  1. Enter the directory and run the installation script:
    cd ~/.dsh/profiles/ppt-expert && ./setup.sh

After installation, you can use this profile directly in DSH. If you already have a profile, you can also add it as an extension bundle:

Typical Usage

After installation, specify the profile via command line and enter the requirement to generate the PPT:

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

  • Environment Dependencies: You need to install LibreOffice (MPL-2.0 license) and Python ≥ 3.10.
  • Permission Settings: The plugin’s default permission is danger-full-access; the agent needs read and write permissions to documents and the working directory.
  • Zero Dependencies: The plugin declares zero npm dependencies to avoid version conflicts with DSH internal modules.
  • Preview Control: If you do not want the popup preview, you can set the environment variable PPT_PREVIEW=0.
