Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture, and its Web management interface depends on several optional plugins. If these plugin packages are missing or throw errors during startup, the entire Web management interface typically crashes, making configuration and management unavailable. dsh-recovery aims to address this issue. It keeps the Web interface available when plugin errors occur and provides entry points for diagnosis and repair.
Plugin Introduction¶
This is a plugin maintained by Tangtang232, positioned as a first-aid tool for the Web side. By isolating plugins that fail to start, it ensures that the DSH Web management plane remains operational even when plugins are in an abnormal state, and provides repair actions on the Settings page.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides the following capabilities:
- Fail-safe operation: Keeps the Web management interface running when optional plugin packages are missing.
- Error isolation: Isolates optional plugins that throw errors during activation to prevent the entire system from being dragged down.
- Diagnostic reports: Reports plugin IDs, module names, failure categories, and whether automatic repair is supported.
- Dependency reinstallation: Reinstalls recorded npm, GitHub, or local dependencies from the Web page.
- Configuration restoration: Restores the last known good Web configuration file.
- Comprehensive checks: Checks settings, plugin manifests, agent presets, model providers, and localhost/source trust.
- Safe repair: Backs up configuration files before repair and automatically rolls back if validation fails.
Installation and Enablement¶
On compatible DSH build versions, install the plugin using the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:Tangtang232/dsh-recovery#v0.1.0
After installation is complete, restart dsh web, then open Settings → Recovery → Check and repair.
Repair Process¶
The repair process is fully completed within the Web interface. The specific steps are as follows:
- Reads the failure items isolated during startup.
- Backs up
package.json, lock files, workspace files, and configuration file patches. - Restores packages only from sources recorded in the configuration manifest.
- Retries plugin activation or restores the last healthy configuration file.
- Rechecks the management API.
- Rolls back modified files when recovery or validation fails.
Notes¶
- No model API calls: Recovery does not call model APIs for inference.
- Network dependency: Package recovery may require network access, only when the recorded source is remote.
- Version compatibility: The current official DSH version does not include pre-plugin startup isolation or
recovery.scan/recovery.repairmanagement methods. Installing this package on this version cannot recover failed Web startup. The plugin is only compatible with development builds based on DSH0.1.1-rc.2. - Security policy: It never guesses unknown package sources, and plugins that still fail remain isolated.
Summary¶
This plugin reduces development disruption caused by DSH plugin failures through a structured repair process. More details can be found on the project homepage.
