Preface¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) allows developers to configure multiple Providers and models. When a large number of models are configured, the model selection menu in the chat interface can become lengthy, reducing selection efficiency. This plugin manages model visibility to control which models appear in the selector.
Plugin Introduction¶
dsh-model-visibility is a DeepSeek Harness plugin maintained by developer Lzh3070. Its core value lies in providing fine-grained control over model display while keeping the original Provider configuration unchanged.
Core Features¶
- Real-time Filtering: Supports real-time search filtering by model name, model ID, or channel name.
- Per-model Toggles: You can set individual models as visible or hidden, with changes taking effect immediately.
- Provider-level Bulk Actions: Supports hiding or displaying all models under a Provider (channel) in bulk.
- One-click Restore: Provides a function to clear the hidden list and quickly restore the display of all models.
- Zero Intrusion: The plugin does not write to Provider configuration files; it only maintains its own hidden list.
- Session Compatibility: Hiding a model currently in use will not interrupt the scheduling of the active session.
Installation and Enablement¶
Use the official installation command to add the plugin. It becomes active after restarting the service.
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-model-visibility
After installation, restart the dsh web process.
How It Works¶
The plugin leverages DSH’s configuration system to implement its features.
- Host side: It declares the
hiddenfield using.volatile(), updates it in place when the settings form is written, and wraps thectx.llm.listModelsmethod. Directory membership is “advisory,” so hiding operations do not affect running sessions. - Browser side: It registers a dedicated “Model Visibility” section page on the settings page. It uses
ctx.configFormsfor shared form read/write, reads the catalog viactx.remote.session.modelCatalog(), and refreshes the page state in response to thellm/adapters-updatedevent.
Uninstall and Recovery¶
Uninstalling the plugin automatically clears the hidden settings and restores the original state.
dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-model-visibility
Because the plugin does not write to Provider configuration, the hidden list becomes invalid automatically when the package is removed, with no manual configuration cleanup required.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Version Requirement: This plugin requires DeepSeek Harness version ≥ 0.2.0-rc.1.
- New Model Handling: The plugin only records “what to hide”; newly added models from a Provider are visible by default.
