Preface

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin architecture, aiming to improve development and debugging efficiency through feature extensions. dsh-ark-balance is a widget plugin that addresses the pain point of checking the remaining balance of free resource packages under the Volcano Engine Ark Collaboration Reward Program in the Web interface. It directly reuses the data source of the official CLI, without requiring additional login or API Key configuration, and persists in the browser.

Plugin Information

  • Name: dsh-ark-balance
  • Maintainer: key8023lala
  • License: MIT
  • Stars: 1
  • Repository: https://github.com/key8023lala/dsh-ark-balance

Prerequisites

Before installing the plugin, ensure that the official CLI is installed locally and logged in. The plugin calls the CLI to retrieve data.

# 安装 CLI
npm i -g @volcengine/ark-cli@latest

# 登录授权(建议使用 volc-sso 扫码)
arkcli auth login volc-sso

# 验证登录状态
arkcli auth status

# 验证数据获取(能看到 JSON 即表示就绪)
arkcli usage balance --type free-quota

Installation and Activation

DSH plugins are installed via command line. After installation, restart the Web service to activate the widget.

# 安装插件
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-ark-balance

# 重启 dsh web 服务
# 然后在浏览器中刷新页面(F5)

Core Features

  1. Official Visual Style: The floating icon and title bar use the official Volcano Engine Ark icon (the favicon from console.volcengine.com/ark), keep a pure white background, and have no extra effects.
  2. Draggable and Position Memory: The collapsed icon is draggable, and the expanded card header is draggable. The position is automatically saved to localStorage and automatically avoids viewport edges.
  3. Model Categories and Filtering: Each model is automatically categorized (text, multimodal, image, video, 3D, code, translation, role, vector) and displays a colored badge. Supports multi-select filtering by type and vendor, with vendor names automatically abbreviated.
  4. Sorting and Release Dates: Supports sorting by remaining quota, release date (newest → oldest), and name. The release date is parsed from primary_version; the catalog is cached for 6 hours.
  5. Combined-Quota Display: Displays total quota and remaining quota. This value is the combined value of the “free inference” and “data permission” resource packages. The meta line displays the split details of both categories.
  6. Fixed Height and Layout Stability: The card height is fixed to min(560px, 70vh), and filtering operations do not cause window jumping.
  7. Refresh Mechanism: Supports automatic refresh every 60 seconds and manual refresh (top-right ↻). The host-side caching mechanism avoids duplicate API calls.
  8. Low-Quota Alerts:
    - The floating icon badge counts in real time.
    - When the combined remaining quota of a model falls below the threshold (default 200,000 tokens), an “remaining / exhausted” alert card pops up.
    - Alerts are triggered only on state transitions; recovery automatically resets, avoiding frequent notifications.
    - Supports one-click filtering to alerts only, and threshold adjustment in settings.
  9. Graceful Degradation: If the CLI is not installed or not logged in, the interface displays installation and login guidance.
  10. Zero Dependencies: A pure Node ESM module with no runtime dependencies.
  11. Zero Credential Access: It fully reuses the CLI login state; the plugin does not read, store, or upload any Keys.

Usage Instructions

  1. Startup and Display: After restarting dsh web, the Volcano Engine Ark icon (collapsed state) appears in the bottom-left corner of the browser.
  2. Drag Layout: Press and hold the icon or the expanded card header, and drag it to any position on the screen. The position is automatically remembered.
  3. View Details: Click the icon to expand the card. The top of the card displays the toolbar (multi-select types, multi-select vendors, sorting dropdown). Each row in the list displays the model name, type badge, remaining/total quota, progress bar, release date, and used split (free inference / data permission).
  4. Refresh Data: Click the ↻ button in the top-right corner to manually refresh; the system automatically refreshes every 60 seconds.
  5. Manage Alerts:
    - Click the ⚠ button on the left side of the card header to filter low-quota models.
    - Click the ⚙ button to enable/disable alerts, adjust the threshold (in 10,000 tokens), preview or clear alerted records.
    - When a model’s remaining quota falls below the threshold, an alert card pops up in the bottom-right corner; click “View” to jump to the alert list.

Data Source

The data comes from internal commands of @volcengine/ark-cli.

# 数据获取命令
arkcli usage balance --type free-quota --format json --page-size 200

The resource packages are divided into two categories by type:
- FreeInference: free inference quota (collaboration reward).
- DataPermission: data permission quota (such as voice cloning).

Release date information is retrieved via the models search catalog and cached for 6 hours.

Notes

  1. Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process; ensure that arkcli is installed and logged in.
  2. Refresh Latency: Data refresh latency is controlled by the upstream arkcli; the console usually has a 5–30 minute delay.
  3. Verify Installation: The following command can verify whether the plugin is loaded correctly:
   dsh --profile web --dump-config | Select-String "ark-balance"
  1. Ecosystem Note: This plugin is hosted in an independent community directory and is not officially affiliated with DeepSeek or Volcano Engine. The official console should be used as the authoritative source of data.
