Overview¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture. Developers need to manage codebase knowledge and reuse pre-configured models. dsh-openwiki is a DSH plugin maintained by D2Moqi. It brings the codebase knowledge base capabilities of openwiki into DeepSeek Harness, enabling one-click generation, reading, and updating of repository Wikis and Grounded Claims. It directly reuses models already configured in DSH, so there is no need to enter API keys again.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides interaction features such as a knowledge base entry, floating window, table of contents tree, and document reading on the DSH main interface.
- Knowledge Base Entry: An “openwiki Knowledge Base” entry above “Settings” in the bottom-left corner of the DSH main interface (can be disabled; persisted via
localStorage). - Three-Mode View: Three permanent tabs: Open Wiki (repository Wiki document tree), Knowledge Cards (Grounded Claims traceability points), and Knowledge Base (personal mode: personal knowledge base).
- Document Reading: Preview/code dual views and a TOC split pane (click “Table of Contents” to open a left-side TOC panel below the toolbar, with an independent vertical scroll bar and sticky positioning that does not scroll with the main content).
- Knowledge Cards: Grounded Claims traceability points (statement + evidence).
- Generation Tasks: Real-time progress (completed X/Y (Z%), processing: N, failed: M). Resuming from a checkpoint depends on openwiki’s
.run.json. - Model Reuse: Reads DSH’s default model (
agentDefaultModel) and credentials, maps them to openwiki provider configuration, and writes it to~/.openwiki/.env. - Runtime Management: Automatically detects the openwiki CLI (parses the npm shim), checks versions (registry), and installs / upgrades / self-tests (
--help). - Automatic Updates: Polls the git HEAD of each workspace and automatically runs incremental updates when new commits are detected (openwiki has no native git trigger; the plugin provides this).
- better-sidebar Integration: Automatically registers a side page when the
dsh-better-sidebarservice is detected. - Ignore Files:
.openwikiignore(gitignore syntax) with graphical editing and saving. - Settings Page: Runtime / model / better-sidebar registration / entry visibility.
Installation and Activation¶
Prerequisites: Node ≥ 20, openwiki CLI (the plugin can install it automatically).
Installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-openwiki
Configuration after installation:
# 编辑 <你的 DSH 用户目录>\profiles\web\cordis.patch.yml,追加:
- id: dsh-openwiki
name: 'dsh-openwiki'
Typical Usage¶
- Generate: Click the refresh or regenerate button.
- View: Click the knowledge base entry and use the tabs to switch modes.
Notes¶
- The plugin runs with the current DSH process permissions; inspect the source code and license before installation.
fs.readBytesthrows an error when exceeding the limit (it does not truncate).- If the manifest is missing, a disk-scan fallback is required.
- Do not spawn
.cmdfiles on Windows. - The
settings namespacedepends on@deepseek-ai/schemastery; dynamic import from a profile may fail. - The client service registry is rebuilt on every refresh.
- openwiki has no git trigger; the plugin provides this.
- Generation is not possible for non-git repositories.
- Markdown fence detection requires
startsWith('```'). - Performance: Idle polling only refreshes jobs + overview; a full refreshWorkspace occurs only when tasks exist.
Summary¶
This plugin uses openwiki as an incremental generation engine, while the DSH side handles the UI, task orchestration, model bridging, and triggering. It is suitable for developers who need to manage codebase knowledge and reuse model configurations directly in DSH. For more information, see catalog_url or github_url.
