Introduction

The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is that “everything is a plugin.” In agent development or automated testing scenarios, developers often need AI to perform local web operations, such as scraping dynamic data, simulating user clicks, or filling out forms. The dsh-browser-ctrl plugin fulfills this requirement through the Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP), giving AI full control over a local browser while running entirely on the host machine.

What Is It

dsh-browser-ctrl is a community third-party plugin maintained by crazy-L118. It provides built-in browser control capabilities for DSH, allowing AI to launch and operate Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome on the local machine. The plugin runs in guest mode, without logging in to an account, does not sync with regular browser data, and depends on no external libraries.

Core Features

AI-Driven Browsing
AI can directly control the browser to open web pages, read content, click buttons, enter text, and scroll pages without manual intervention.

Screenshots Embedded in Chat
During interactions, screenshots captured by AI are automatically embedded in the chat message flow; click to view the original image.

Built-in Browser Panel
A live view panel docks on the right side of the chat interface, displaying the current browser state and supporting direct clicking, scrolling, and text input.

Isolation and Security
It runs in guest mode and is isolated from the host system’s browser data for safety.

Installation and Enablement

Prerequisites:
1. DSH is already installed.
2. Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome is installed on the local machine.

Run the installation command:

dsh plugin --profile web add npm:dsh-browser-ctrl

After installation, you must fully restart dsh. The plugin is loaded only when dsh starts; merely refreshing the page will not take effect.

Uninstallation and Cleanup

Run the uninstallation command:

dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-browser-ctrl

After uninstallation, you must also fully restart dsh. To clean browser data, manually delete the directory ~/.dsh/browser-use/ (this directory contains a separate profile, cache, and screenshots).

Notes

This plugin is a community third-party plugin and is not affiliated with the official DeepSeek team. The plugin name and related names belong to their respective owners. It is recommended to review the source code before installation to confirm the permission logic. The plugin itself has zero external dependencies.
