When developing or using agents in DeepSeek Harness Web GUI (dsh web), it is often necessary to repeatedly use the same prompts, code snippets, or templates (such as weekly report writing, code review, and meeting minutes). Keeping these contents scattered across local notes or chat histories makes them costly to find when needed. The dsh-notepad plugin provides a centrally managed snippet library for dsh web, supporting categorized storage, search and filtering, and one-click copying.
Core Features¶
- Quick input-box entry: There is a button next to the chat input box. Clicking it opens the notes panel. You can filter by category and search for content. Clicking an item inserts the snippet into the input box, with one-click copy support.
- Category management: Supports categorizing snippets by usage scenario (such as code, writing, translation, etc.), and supports creating, renaming, deleting, and reordering categories.
- Centralized management: In the “Notes” page of the settings panel, you can manage all notes in one place, supporting adding, deleting, editing, reordering, and searching (press
/to focus on search, and pressEscto clear it). - Import and export: Supports importing JSON files or any text/Markdown files (using the file name as the title), and supports exporting notes as a JSON backup.
- Local storage: Data is stored locally in the
~/.dsh/dsh-notepad/notesdirectory. It does not access the network and does not collect any data.
Installation and Enabling¶
Install the plugin using the official command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:chenchen4396/dsh-notepad
After installation is complete, restart dsh web. A notes entry button will appear next to the input box, and the “Notes” page will appear in the settings panel.
Typical Usage¶
- Quick retrieval: Open the notes panel, search by category, and click an item to insert the content into the input box.
- Searching in the settings panel: In the “Notes” page of the settings panel, press the
/key to focus on the search box, and pressEscto clear the search. - Import and export: Import dsh-notepad JSON files or text files for backup or migration; export notes as a JSON file.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Supported environment: DeepSeek Harness Web GUI (
dsh web). - Data safety: Note data is stored locally in
~/.dsh/dsh-notepad/notes. Uninstalling the plugin will not delete local note data; reinstalling it will restore access to the data. - Privacy: The plugin does not access the network and does not collect any data.
Summary¶
dsh-notepad centralizes frequently used text snippets, solving the issue of constantly switching windows in dsh web to look for prompts. With local storage and import/export functionality, users have full control over their data.
