In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) development workflow, managing the Web service process and maintaining the desktop launch entry usually requires opening a terminal and running commands. The dsh-easy-start plugin addresses service lifecycle management and shortcut reuse by providing controls within the Web interface.

This is a Web plugin maintained by aorucshiea, designed to simplify desktop launching and service control for DSH.

Core Features

The plugin mainly provides the following capabilities:

  • One-click desktop launch: Intelligently manages desktop shortcuts. If a DeepSeek Harness shortcut already exists, the plugin reuses it directly and does not create a duplicate; if it does not exist, it automatically creates DSH Easy Start.
  • Restart the DSH service: Click restart in the Web interface, and the plugin handles the process transition.
  • Stop the DSH service: Directly stops the current DSH Web service process.
  • Check the desktop shortcut: Detects and reuses existing DSH launch entries in the settings page.

Installation and Enablement

Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:aorucshiea/dsh-easy-start

After installation is complete, restart DSH Web to load the plugin.

Typical Usage

  1. Manage the shortcut: After opening DSH Web, the plugin checks the desktop. If a DeepSeek Harness shortcut already exists on the desktop, it uses it directly; if none is detected, it automatically creates DSH Easy Start.
  2. Control the service: Open DSH Web → Settings → Service Control, where you can perform the following operations:
    • Restart the DSH service: After clicking, the page waits for the service to recover and automatically refreshes.
    • Stop the DSH service: After clicking, the current process is stopped.
    • Check the desktop shortcut: Manually triggers the shortcut detection logic.

Working Principles and Notes

  • Auto-refresh: When restarting the service, if the request is interrupted, the page automatically polls and waits for the new service to recover, then refreshes automatically.
  • Dependent process: Restarting the service relies on a detached Node watchdog process. It waits for the current service to release the port, then starts a new instance using the original dsh web command.
  • Pre-launch script: Before launching dsh web, the desktop launcher first runs the repair script of dsh-safe-tui (if it exists), ensuring the environment is ready before opening the browser.
  • Permissions and security: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to review the source code and license (MIT) before installation. The repository does not store any API keys or credentials.

With this plugin, you can manage the service lifecycle and launch entry directly from the Web interface, reducing terminal operations. Project address: GitHub.
