DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture. When developing or collaborating on the web chat interface, developers often need to frequently check session status, context usage, usage statistics, and Git changes. dsh-awesome-hud provides a floating HUD panel for this purpose, consolidating these key details in the upper-right corner of the chat page and reducing interface switching.

Plugin Overview

This plugin is maintained by Ycet and is licensed under the MIT license. It creates a floating HUD panel for the DeepSeek Harness web chat page. Its core value lies in aggregating information: displaying the current session’s status (name, state, model), context window usage and compression, usage details, Git change management, sub-agent tasks, todo lists, and MCP service status.

Installation and Activation

Install it through the official plugin manager.

dsh plugin --profile web add github:Ycet/dsh-awesome-hud

After installation, restart the service and refresh the page. A “HUD Panel” button appears in the upper-right corner of the chat page. Click it to expand or collapse the panel.

Core Features

The panel includes the following modules:

  • Session Status: Displays the workspace name, session name, session state (e.g., busy/idle), and current model. Supports renaming the session via the edit button.
  • Context Window: Shows the context usage progress bar and cache hit rate. Supports one-click compression of the current session’s context.
  • Usage Viewer: Displays the balance or remaining quota for DeepSeek, OpenCode Go, and Codex. Clicking a specific value can directly open the “Account” section of the settings panel.
  • Git Change Management: Supports viewing the current branch, staged and unstaged changes, commits, reverting changes, and viewing the commit graph. Supports creating a new branch based on a commit.
  • Sub-agent Tasks: Displays all descendant sub-agents of the current session and their execution status.
  • Todos and Plans: Displays the todo tasks and plan list for the current session, with status management support.
  • Global MCP On/Off: Controls the on/off switch for global MCP services.
  • Notes Management: Provides workspace-shared notes. Supports dragging to adjust height, with a content limit of 5,000 characters.

Interaction and Collaboration

  • Toggle and Memory: Click the button in the upper-right corner to open or close the panel. The panel state is remembered independently per session, but the new-session page defaults to the collapsed state each time it is entered.
  • Module Visibility: Select which modules to display through the HUD settings menu. Saved settings are synchronized with the profile.
  • Exclusive Sidebar Interaction: The panel interacts exclusively with the better-sidebar right sidebar. Opening the sidebar automatically closes the HUD, and vice versa.

Precautions

Before installing, please verify the source code and license. Notes content is shared per workspace, with a limit of 5,000 characters per note.

Conclusion

By presenting key information in a floating panel, this plugin reduces the cognitive load when performing multi-tasking in the DSH web interface. For more details, see the GitHub repository or the plugin directory.
