DeepSeek Harness (DSH) supports plugin-based extension. Developers usually store custom skills in the ~/.agents/skills directory. As the number of skills grows, manually typing /skillname in the chat box and reading long descriptions becomes inefficient. The DSH plugin weilantianhai/dsh-command-skill-list solves this problem by listing all available skills through a chat command and automatically shortening and translating descriptions into the system language.

This is a DSH client plugin. It scans the ~/.agents/skills directory using / or /sk prefix commands, automatically translates skill descriptions into Chinese (≤24 characters) or English (≤15 words), and supports custom notes. After a skill is selected, it calls the skill directly.

Core Features

  • Quick trigger: Enter / to show the entry, or enter /sk, /ski, or any other prefix to directly open the full skill list.
  • Automatic translation: Descriptions are automatically condensed into one-sentence summaries (Chinese ≤ 24 characters / English ≤ 15 words). It preferentially reuses DSH built-in models (zero configuration) and supports a custom DeepSeek API Key as a fallback.
  • Custom notes: Add notes for skills on the settings page. Notes are displayed directly in the menu (skipping translation).
  • Performance optimization: Translation results are cached on disk, warmed up at startup, translated in parallel, automatically fall back on failure, and do not block the menu.
  • Plug and play: After selecting a skill, /skillname is automatically inserted and loaded by DSH’s built-in mechanism.

Installation

Use the official plugin installation command to add this plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:weilantianhai/dsh-command-skill-list

Configuration and Usage

After installation, a “Skill Translation” section appears in the DSH settings page:

  • Translation channel: Uses DSH’s built-in model by default, with no configuration required. You can also enter a custom DeepSeek API Key as a backup.
  • Skill custom notes: Lists installed skills with one input box per row. After entering a note, the menu displays the note (in gray text). Leave it empty to restore automatic translation.
  • Clear cache: Use this when changing language or when you need to force retranslation.

Configuration File

All configuration is stored in ~/.dsh/plugins/command-skill-list/config.json (also editable from the settings page):

{
  "deepseekApiKey": "sk-xxx",
  "notes": {
    "tdd": "测试驱动开发:红-绿-重构",
    "code-review": "按仓库规范与需求规格双维度审查代码"
  }
}
  • deepseekApiKey: Backup translation channel. It can also be set via the environment variable DEEPSEEK_API_KEY.
  • notes: Custom notes mapped by skill name. Skills with notes are no longer translated.

Environment Requirements and Notes

  • Dependencies: Requires DSH Web (dsh web) and Node.js 18+ (the host side uses fetch).
  • Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to review the source code and license (MIT) before installation.
  • Use cases: Suitable for users with many skill configurations who need to switch quickly or read skill descriptions across languages.

This plugin uses caching and parallel translation mechanisms to address the pain points of browsing skill lists and reading skill descriptions. To view more plugins or access the source code, visit GitHub or the community directory.
