DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a development tool for building intelligent agents. Its default interface is minimalist. dsh-veneer is a plugin that provides visual theming capabilities for DSH. It allows users to adjust backgrounds, fonts, colors, and styles through an editing panel in the sidebar, without modifying code or configuration files, and to persist the settings.

Core Features

The plugin provides a complete set of interface customization tools:

  • Background Theming: Offers 12 built-in background styles, covering the sidebar, main content area, input box, and overlays. Supports uploading local images, with drag-to-crop, zoom, and opacity adjustment.
  • Fonts and Text Colors: Allows separate adjustment of fonts and text colors for the global scope, sidebar, main content, input area, and plugin panels. Supports entering names of locally installed fonts directly.
  • Style Fine-Tuning: Fine-tune border radius, borders, shadows, and accent colors through CSS variables.
  • Theme Management: Supports saving, resetting, and copying CSS code. Supports exporting/importing theme configurations (JSON format) for easy migration or backup between devices.
  • Template Library: Includes 8 preset themes (such as Morandi, Cyber, Minimal, Deep Space, etc.). Click to preview and apply with one click.
  • AI-Generated Themes: Generate a complete theme via AI based on a description. The generated result is persisted only after confirming application.

Installation and Activation

Install via the DSH plugin mechanism, without manual configuration files.

dsh plugin --profile web add github:swordordead/dsh-Veneer

After installation, restart the dsh web service and refresh the browser page. You can find the Edit entry at the bottom of the sidebar.

Usage Flow

  1. Enter Editing Mode: Click Edit in the lower-left corner of DSH.
  2. Adjust Parameters: In the pop-up panel, select a background, font, AI theme, or style. Real-time preview is supported.
  3. Apply and Save: Once satisfied, click Save Theme. The settings will be retained automatically.

Notes

  • AI Generation: The AI theme feature reuses Harness’s conversation model catalog and credentials, with zero API Key configuration. Generated results are in preview mode by default and are persisted to Harness Settings only after clicking Apply.
  • Mutually Exclusive: This plugin is mutually exclusive with other theming methods in DSH.
  • Data Storage: Theme data is stored in Harness Settings (the dsh-veneer namespace). Uninstalling the plugin will not delete saved theme settings.
  • License: This project uses the MIT license.
