The permission mode of DSH determines the workflow pattern. ask mode allows the model to pause when it encounters approval, solution confirmation, or a question, and wait for user input. This requires users to stay in front of the screen; full access mode can run continuously, but it gives up the ability to intervene before action. dsh-notify-me decouples “supervision” from “staying in front of the screen.” It sends a system notification, sound alert, and tab title badge only when a genuine decision point appears or a background task completes, reducing waiting costs while preserving safety.
Plugin Overview¶
dsh-notify-me is a DSH desktop notification plugin maintained by chromoany. It is implemented at the browser layer and triggers reminders when your input is needed (approval/confirmation/question) or when a response has completed in the background. The plugin is released under the MIT License.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides the following capabilities:
- System notifications: Shows a Toast notification on the desktop; clicking it returns focus to the DSH window.
- Sound alert: Uses WebAudio to synthesize different tones to distinguish “attention needed” and “completed” states.
- Tab title badge: When pending items exist, the tab title is prefixed with
🔔 Attention needed · ...or🔔 Action needed · .... - Action-required reminders: Reminds you about approval requests, pending solution confirmations, or questions.
- Completion reminders: Triggered when a response round finishes or a background session completes.
- Notification language switching: Supports following the interface, Simplified Chinese, or English.
- Configuration storage: All configuration is stored in the browser
localStorage.
Installation & Enablement¶
Use the official DSH plugin command to install it. After installation, restart the dsh web service and hard-refresh the DSH page (Ctrl+Shift+R) to apply the changes.
# 安装并挂载进 web profile
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-notify-me
After installation is complete, refresh the page to see the related configuration items under DSH Settings → Notification Reminders.
Usage¶
1. Console Testing¶
Open the console (F12) on the DSH page. You can use the following commands to test the reminder feature:
// 测试「需要你」提醒(带标题标记)
window.__dshNotifyMe.test("attention")
// 测试「完成」提醒(后台任务完成)
window.__dshNotifyMe.test("done")
2. Advanced Configuration¶
In addition to the settings page, you can also directly manipulate the configuration object through the console. The configuration is stored in dshNotifyMe.config in localStorage.
// 查看当前配置
window.__dshNotifyMe.config
// 修改配置
window.__dshNotifyMe.setConfig({
})
// 恢复默认配置
window.__dshNotifyMe.resetConfig()
Notes¶
- Keep the tab open: Since the plugin runs at the browser layer, the page must remain open (being minimized or running in the background is fine; closing the tab disables it).
- Browser notification permission: Before first use, you need to authorize notification permission via the browser address bar or by clicking the page once. Without authorization, only sound alerts and tab title badges are supported.
- Autoplay policy: After the page loads, before the first sound or notification, you must have clicked the page once, as required by browser security policies.
- Configuration persistence: Configuration is stored locally in the browser. Clearing site data resets it to the default values.
