Introduction¶
The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When developers build, test, and troubleshoot plugins, work is often scattered across different tools and processes. dsh-developer integrates build, diagnostics, testing, and upgrade checks into the DSH workflow, helping developers complete these tasks directly inside the tool and reducing friction caused by cross-tool operations.
Plugin Positioning¶
dsh-developer is a DSH plugin designed and implemented by MetaFlow and maintained by builtin-pb. It aims to address pain points across the full plugin development lifecycle, enabling users to transform local services, tools, or workflows into plugins usable by DSH agents and to identify potential issues before plugins are released.
Core Features¶
This plugin provides the following core capabilities:
- Conversion and Build: Transform local services, tools, or workflows into plugins usable by DSH agents.
- Early Diagnostics: Discover installation issues, missing services, and broken Web integrations before users encounter them.
- Version Checks: Check for DSH updates and compare the plugin against release and preview versions.
- Investigation and Improvement: Investigate missing capabilities, test existing behavior, and develop improvements.
Installation and Enablement¶
Before installing, make sure DSH is installed. Install the officially released v0.1.4 version:
dsh plugin --profile web add 'github:builtin-pb/dsh-developer#v0.1.4' --ignore-scripts
After installation is complete, open or restart DSH Web (dsh web) to use it.
Typical Usage¶
In a DSH interaction or workflow, you can directly describe the goal, and the plugin will take over the corresponding development task:
- Build a Plugin: Describe your requirement, for example, “Build a plugin that lets my agent search our local documents.”
- Troubleshooting: When a plugin fails to start in DSH Web, describe the issue, for example, “This plugin fails to start in DSH Web. Find the problem and fix it.”
- Pre-release Check: Describe the goal, for example, “Check whether this plugin is ready to share.”
Use Cases and Notes¶
Target Audience:
* DSH plugin developers.
* Developers who need to maintain existing plugins.
* Contributors who want to understand DSH version compatibility.
Notes:
* Runtime Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Check the source code and license before installing.
* DSH Version Requirements: Version 0.1.4 targets DSH 0.1.5-rc.2 for blocking checks and 0.1.6-alpha.2 for advisory checks.
* License: Licensed under the MIT License.
Conclusion¶
dsh-developer is a practical plugin development assistant. By front-loading build, diagnostics, and testing workflows, it reduces the maintenance cost of DSH plugins.
