In the plugin system of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), Agent Skills are often scattered across local directories or different Git repositories. Models cannot directly perceive these distributed instructions. We need a tool to aggregate these skills and provide a unified loading entry point.
dsh-skills-anywhere is a DSH plugin maintained by noteflowai. It collects Agent Skills from local directories and configured Git sources into a catalog, providing access through the dsh provider in DeepSeek Harness or a local stdio MCP server.
Core Features¶
This plugin mainly addresses the issues of fragmented skills and difficult discovery. It provides the following capabilities:
- Skill collection: Collects Agent Skills from local directories and configured Git sources to build a unified catalog.
- Loading methods: Loads skills through the DeepSeek Harness (
dsh) provider or a local stdio MCP server. - Resource checking: Checks local
SKILL.mdfiles in browser or CI environments. - Diagnostics and feedback: Provides parsing diagnostics, file hashes, and clear exit codes.
- Deduplication: Automatically deduplicates symbolic links and byte-identical entries.
- Frontend repair: Supports repairing frontend fields defined in documentation.
Installation and Enabling¶
Before installing the plugin, ensure the environment meets the dependency requirements: Node.js 22.19+ or 24+, and Git (if using Git sources).
The installation command is as follows:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-skills-anywhere
After installation, you can call these skills in DSH through its skill tool or /skill-name.
Typical Usage¶
List Discovered Skills¶
View the list of skills discovered in the current catalog:
npx dsh-skills-anywhere list
Check Skill Files¶
Before moving or loading a skill, check whether local Markdown link targets are complete. The following command checks the SKILL.md file and its resource dependencies at the specified path:
npx dsh-skills-anywhere@0.16.0 check path/to/SKILL.md --resources --
Add a Git Source¶
Add a skill set from a Git repository, for example, add the official Anthropic skill library:
npx dsh-skills-anywhere add anthropics/skills
Use Cases and Notes¶
Use cases:
* Developers who need to reuse Agent Skills across multiple tools.
* Projects that need to validate SKILL.md file integrity in CI pipelines.
* Users developing agents with DeepSeek Harness who need unified skill catalog management.
Notes:
* Catalog budget: The catalog budget controls the number of skill summaries that enter the model session catalog. The default limit is 50. Skills beyond the limit can still be searched with find_skills, but they are not automatically loaded.
* Resource check scope: The --resources option only checks Markdown link targets. It does not check dependencies in the body text, nor does it execute the skill itself.
* Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to review the source code and license before installation.
Summary¶
dsh-skills-anywhere provides a standard workflow for discovering, collecting, and loading Agent Skills from local and Git sources. Through deduplication, hash validation, and clear diagnostic information, it helps developers maintain a tidy and consistent skill catalog.
